Summer WIW's and K/R

Hi Everyone. I've been a bit off the radar lately--verra busy with the kids and a pinched nerve or something that is seriously cramping my style. I've been pretty good about trying not to repeat outfits until lately--these are from earlier in the summer.

The last two pics shows my K/R--a knit blouson dress and a pair of sandals. My receipt may have already expired so I may be stuck with them--what do you think? Lapse of judgement on my part? The sandals are faux snakeskin print--Kenneth Cole, I think. I keep going back and forth on the ankle straps.

Kelly, so nice to see you! What great outfits you have been wearing! Just love 2 and 3 in the first round and 6, 7, 8 and 10 in the second round. I love the blouson type top/dress although it looks rather big on you or am I seeing things? Looks like a winning pair of sandals to me.

I love the sandals! The dress I am not so sure about - I don't like it as well as the ones in photos 1 and 2.

The sandals are great - are the ankle straps a little big? The dress looks too big on you to me. You are looking very fit there, shoulder twin! I miss you around here.

Hey, Kelly! You have the MOTG summer thing down pat. I love that jean skirt with the greenish sweater. About your questions, the blouson dress looks too big, and I like the sandals!

What a great bunch of outfits! One thing that I really like is that you have a lot of variety, so it really keeps your outfits interesting.

I like them all, so it's hard to even pick favorites, but if pressed to, I'm really crazy about that multi-colored zig-zaggy top with the black shorts and multi-colored sandals in the first set, also that orangy open knit sweater over the black dress.

But even your simplest looks are great, like the black tee and denim shorts or the white tunic top over white shorts.

I love your style!

As far as the K/R:
I really like the sandals, but I'm not as crazy about the dress.

Well hey there stranger! I've missed you around here. You have got the MOTG look down to perfection. Every single one of these outfits is perfect. I couldn't even begin to pick a favourite.

Sorry to hear about the pinched nerve. That can be so painful. Hope you're on the mend!

Wow! Your outfits are great! I love your style. Ditto all the other comments about the dress -- seems a bit big on you and doesn't do you justice. I like the sandals, and though they seem a bit loose at the ankle strap, that may be necessary so the straps don't rub too much.

Kellygirl!! It's so great to see you! That pinched nerve situations sounds pretty bad...are you getting any relief via meds, health professionals, wine :)?

You are looking so fabulous, as always! You seriously could do a workshop on how to look chic and fabulous for mild summer weather! My faves, in no particular order: Love the first look with the denim short! You were MADE to wear these shorts!! They look so awesome on you! Also love the Thakoon dress, the cargos with the black sweater, the lacey gray dolman sweater with the gathered blue skirt (love this volume on volume--such a fab silhouette for you), and the all-white ensemble. The others are delightful too--not a bad one in the bunch.

I think the dress in question might be too big, and from what I can see, the ankle strap sandals look good! I would need to see them closer, to assess the ankle strap situation (too loose, or okay?).

That is a fab group of WIWs! I see some handknits/crochets in there! =) I especially love the second outfit in the first group with the cargo skirt, the outfit with the candy stripe dress + denim vest, and the slouchy pants outfit.

The new sandals are fab! Keep! I think the dress might be a little too big for you.

Wow - how can you manage to come up with SO many fab summer MOTG outfits!! And you are indeed looking very fit and fab in them! I'm in awe of that first simple, chic bermuda and black outfit, and the cargo skirt outfit, and that crazy zig zag top, and the crochet over black dress, and . . . . . . . .

Sorry to hear about the pinched nerve, and hope you can get it taken care of.

I like the looks of your sandals in K/R, but I'm not so fond of the dress. I think the dress in pic 2 upper right corner does the same job, but better. So would the Thakoon dress FWIW.

Hope the rest of your summer is more comfortable for you!

No surprise to me that you have been looking fab day after day in your absence. I especially like that super colorful one with the colorful sandals (3), also those sandals paired with the blue striped top, and the candy striped dress outfit is so cute too. The blue dress looks like a good piece for hot weather, although it would be nice to see a size smaller for comparison. I like the sandals but am concerned the ankle strap is too loose? Pinched nerve sounds very painful I hope you don't mean in your back and I hope in any case it gets better soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome back I’ve been trying to keep tabs on everyone but I have such a hard time reading posts via my phone. I’m delighted that my WIW’s and sandals are getting a thumbs up. I’ve been trying to mix things up and a mild summer so far has made it pretty easy--very few truly sweltering days. Thanks also for confirming a sneaking suspicion about the dress--I’m going to hunt down the receipt and see if I can still take it back or not.

@Carole: Thanks! I was kind of on the fence about the khaki outfit in 2. I’ve struggled with styling that skirt. It’s been an orphan for at least a year now.

@Shoulder Twin: I think the sandal straps are a bit deceiving. They fit pretty closely IRL Thanks for the “fit” comment. I’ve been feeling like quite a mess these days.

@Parsley: Thank you! I’m glad my simple outfits are effective--it’s so hard to layer when it’s hot. I’ve been making a conscious effort to add a belt or bracelet or open work top to add interest to an otherwise kind of boring ensemble.

@Jonesy: Thank you for your sweet comments! You make me feel quite fashionable. If only DD’s knew their mom was so stylish! Re: the nerve--I’m hoping to see the Dr. next week. Motrin, stretching and my pm cocktail aren’t doing the trick Yesterday was the last straw--I had to have DD help me get my compression bra off. It was horrible. I had contemplated cutting it off but they are so dern expensive!

Hey KG, I have missed your sunny and funny self here! I am glad you are keeping busy but remember Moms need a vacation too!

So I think the new blouson dress/tunic looks great on you! Definitely a keeper. The sandals are edgy, I like them. If they are comfy, keep them! Where do you plan to wear them, are you thinking MOTG occasions or more date night?

Your outfits are great, you look really good on a day to day basis, with no repeats. You have perfected a casual look where you will never look over-dressed or out of place, but you will stand out for looking attractive, stylish and pulled together.

ETA -- And ouch about that pinched nerve!

ETA x2 -- Favoring an oversized, slouchy style, of course I like the dress! I just do not see what the others are seeing here. It's supposed to fit like that. The idea is to surrender the torso so all the focus goes on that pretty face and those gorgeous legs.

So good to see you KG! Missed your gorgeous style:). I think your summer MOTG looks are all fab. You know what works on you and you manage to look casual but still very stylish and comfortable. I like the sandals and I don't mind the dress. I think this is the style and I am wondering about the dress without the belt?

You do have a superb MOTG style - you look great in all of these. My personal faves are #1,3 in the first batch and I can't pick a fave in the second. I like the dress and how you've styled it is perfect. LOVE the sandals. Very Jonesy-esque IMO. Hope you find relief from the nerve soon - no fun.
