2 weeks back in the country and trying to mix it up with both new and old items. Summer is warmer than it often is in December.
I only have one shortsleeved mesh top left, it is this turquoise one from 2011. I used to also have black, orange, lime green and pinky-purple. I miss the variety but all the rest died. I can’t find any more!- but did find a black longsleeved one last Saturday when I took my MIL shopping. As I am trying not to have as many tunics to go over layering tops ( but still have a few) that should get good use on not quite so warm days.

Pic 4: today, to go to Sabatini sale. I bought 2 things in it, an olive shortsleeved top and some navy lounging pants for next winter.

Oh! Jenni! I love these looks on you! #1 is my favourite by a smidge (happy colour, you know) - but how clever to pair the lace vest with the snakeskin trousers in #2. Can I say what great legs you have?! The length of the tunic in #1 is perfect for highlighting your great ‘pins’!

Thank you Carla, you’re lovely. I do like the floatiness of that tunic, more flattering than the more clingy white top in the second outfit. Giving up long over lean is somehow taking a while...

Fun and playful outfits - love your gold sandals with bright colors! Your earrings deserve more showcasing .
I get what you are saying about clingy white tops - I think I only feel comfortable if tops are clingy and dark ( black, navy..) or if they have prints all over drawing attention away from my body shape. Having said that - your outfit #4 looks great on you - black lace vest adds structure and completes the look!

Two really fab and interesting summer looks. LOVE the new sandals, they are so you!!
I like tunics on you, is there a reason that you are planning on wearing them less? #1 is a fab look, pretty, flattering and stylish.
#2 I love on you too - the snakeskin pants and lace vest work so well together and the column effect of these two pieces together is very slimming. The white top looks just right in this outfit.

Hi Bijou I do still like tunics on me, I was trying to reduce the number that need a layering top underneath like this- feels like I’ve been doing that look since about 2010 or so and I guess I’m a bit over it? Too much going on sometimes?
I have tried not to buy more for a while but sometimes I end up doing it without thinking enough, like buying a sleeveless tunic length top for summer and then realising my upper arms are not that great?
I am quite wedded to my slim pants- leggings or slim straights. My legs are definitely amongst my better features still. So I don’t mind if their shape can be seen.

I agree with all above that #1 is a particular standout! Great shape and colors. Hopefully you can find some more tops to repeat/replace so you can do the flared "mini" again. I'm with you on still preferring skinny legs!

So jealous that it’s summer there, lol! Last winter felt like a relief, a reprieve from the endless heat. This winter, not so much. But I know how happy we will be when spring finally arrives.

Nice to see your layers, even in summer. I suppose that’s the only way you can wear the sheer tops. Have you tried looking at athletic wear? You’d have to be careful of the detailing, but I bet you’d find replacements for the ones you miss.

On giving up the tunics: does this one really count? I mean yes, it is that length, but being sheer makes it seem like a whole different thing to me. We can see your legs, so it’s a different silhouette, a more interesting one, than an opaque tunic that blocked everything down to your knees.

Love your new sandals! I hear you on the fussiness of layering when going for long over lean, but I hope you aren't planning to abandon long over lean altogether! You look really great in that silhouette.

Fun texture on texture in the second outfit, Jenni. I think the first one is my favourite too: the happy sandals + asymmetric top + that excellent shade of blue on you, and then you add those excellent earrings that pick up the colours in the floral pattern.

It is not that I don't like #1 but the set in #4 is killing me. I would mix it with the blue tee from the first outfit. Love it!
