It was 89° yesterday, so we're starting to get some summer days here in Colorado, even if the season hasn't settled in just yet. I'm happy to say that I'm feeling pretty good about the state of my summer closet, and I don't expect to be shopping much more as the season progresses. Yay!

Here are the essentials I've purchased for the season. They'll combine with pieces from previous years (dresses, relaxed, cropped pants, more tops, statement pieces) to form the core of my wardrobe:

tops:
black silk tank (Garnet Hill)
black linen tank (Eileen Fisher)
striped tee (Garnet Hill)
black crochet-top tee (Eddie Bauer)
off-white crochet-top tee (Eddie Bauer)

bottoms:
olive twill pants (Eddie Bauer)

shoes/accessories:
leather sneakers (Converse)
crossbody bag (Fossil)

TOTAL 8 items

My husband appears to know my essentials better than I do, because when I showed him my last two purchases (the striped tee and the linen tank), I asked, "Aren't you going to point out that this is yet another black sleeveless top and yet another striped tee?"

He looked blank, and said, "Why would I do that? Those are what you wear!"
