Summer Shorts: Cobalt, White and Slip Ons

Today I felt like it was about time to post a pic after not doing so in a long time. So, after some early morning gardening (tomatoes are going to be ripe before long!) I took a shower and decided it was a perfect day for white and blue. All the white I've been seeing here on YLF nudged me to put these on. I don't wear them as often as other shorts but I'm not really sure why. They are very comfortable and can be rolled up/down as my mood sees fit.

This is pretty much my summer uniform - either sandals or slip ons, comfortable tee or button down, belt, BF shorts and a necklace or bracelet.

Shorts: KUT from the Kloth Catherine BFs
Shoes: UGG
Necklace: Jcrew
Belt: Can't remember now, Kohls I think

Your tomatoes are almost ripe -- and it snowed where I am a few days ago! Wow. You look fresh, comfortable, and fantastic. Love the fit of that tee on you. And the shoes are fun as well.

I love cobalt and white, and those shoes are fun too! I wish I looked as good as you do in shorts, I would not hesitate so much to wear them.

suz - thanks - I know cobalt gets a lot of love here on YLF. And I knew that mentioning the tomatoes would get some snow comments. We do have a *very* early spring/summer down here. Last year it got too hot too quickly and the tomatoes didn't do well at all. This year is better as it hasn't gotten in the high 90's and 100's yet. If it makes you feel better, we'll be sweltering come mid-June and by August it's nearly unbearable 100's most every day. In the mid 80's I'll still wear jeans.

Thanks rute - jackiec was my inspiration for getting those shoes after I saw her WIW wearing them.

Janet - thanks for the kind words, I think you look great in shorts too. You know it's funny, there was a time when I felt like my legs were short and just not great. I think age is the only thing that really changed my mindset. These days I'm much more bothered about spots on my skin.

JAileen - thanks for the nice comment and the tomatoes are not quite ripe yet (well there was one red one today) but many are getting pretty close. Downside is that by mid July they'll be scorched, but sometimes the plants make it 'til fall and we get a second crop.

Astrid- thank you, I'm starting to wear the white belt more often now that I have those shoes. I felt like I needed something more to help balance it.

Stacey- thanks! it will the reverse when it's way too hot here to grow anything else and you are just starting to enjoy yours. Our summers are looong.

Well count me in on the color love, these look great on you! A chambray or light blue linen top would be a great softer blue alternative on days you feel less bright. The shorts look good to me

I just bought these shorts, but mine seem longer (even rolled) perhaps because I'm shorter? I like them, and the whole outfit on you. Very pulled together casual look!

Posts like this inspires me to wear more shorts myself. For many years I had this strange idea that shorts didn't work for me. Now I realize it's all about finding the right one. You look fantastic in yours. Strong legs, slender frame, and there's nothing wrong with your skin, either. I love the drape of the tee, and the belt and shoes complete the outfit very nicely. Casual, but put together. Cobalt is a great color for you. I'd love to see your tomatoes. It fascinates me to read about all the various climate and weather conditions we are under here at YLF!

marmee - I do have mine rolled up three times, so that could also be part of the difference? Or maybe they've changed as I bought mine I think the year before last.
