A closet review and modest edit (no big purge required) is scheduled for this fall, followed by a bit of shopping for the F/W season. I'm going to put shopping on 'hold' while I do some style work/creative problem solving - and enjoy the last days of dressing for warm (or hot!) summer.

Today was for a preliminary review and setting aside of items that are looking tired/worn but I got distracted identifying the items that worked hard for me this summer and deserve some time in my sartorial hall of fame!

#1 sleeveless red linen dress - Liz Claiborne (thrifted) this dress has been worn over a dozen times since I purchased it. I've styled it over white jeans, and with jean jackets, but my favourite way to wear it is as you see in this pic (worn today) - by itself with red or white sneakers. Perfect for the worst hot and muggy summer days.

#2 white jeans - RL, black joggers - Lululemon, cropped jeans - Hanna Highrise/MWWH. I've won other bottoms, but these have been worn at least once every week since spring and will continue to see action until it is too cold to bare ankles. 2 of the bottoms have frayed bottoms chopped by me. I don't know if the trend is fading, but I'm still a fan and will wear these into the ground.

#3 red/white checked western shirt - thrifted, boho floral shirt - YEST, dark floral T-shirt - Only and Son's, graphic T-shirt - Uniqlo - wear/wash/wear. The Uniqlo T was the biggest surprise. Men's style T-shirts are on my new 'forbidden' list, but I fell in love with the Hokusai Blue graphic. Rolling the sleeves 'street style' and tucking gives outfit pairing a little more style. I especially love it tucked into the Lulu OTF joggers and my new pleated skirt.

#4 seatbelt bag - Harvey's, straw and cloth basket bag - gift, leapord flats - Town shoes, white sneakers - Skeechers, olive leather sneakers - Josef Siebal, white paper straw hat - Columbia, pale olive hiker's hat - Tilley. Use, use, use, wear, wear, wear.

Note: The Tilley gets worn the most, since it is first choice for sun protection during yard chores. It is so comfortable, I forget that I have it on. DH picked one up a month ago and it is his go-to for all outdoor activities. He says he gets asked about it at the golf club all the time, and now at least 3 of his golf buddies are wearing them. Special thanks to JAileen for her review of the Tilley hat, and her information about HER seatbelt bag.

So, what are your summer MVP's?
