Summer dress dilemma! - YouLookFab Forum

My friend's 40th is tomorrow -,cocktails at a dive bar and then walk to her place for finger food and fancy drinks - and apparently the dress code is "cute summer dress", of which I have exactly none. Cute? Summer? Dress? HELP! I guess I could have dealt with this before now. Anyway, I did find this cloud dress in my closet, which I love. Does it qualify?

Also am wearing the new Valentino knock-offs, which are quite comfortable! I wore them on a test run to the store with my sweatpant jeans. Didn't realize how many single guys shop at night. One dude said, "Whatever you're looking for, it's in this aisle!" Er, no.

Anyway, I could also fake it with a skirt and top, but would love to know if this works and get opinions on the shoes!

I think it fits the bill perfectly. I think of a summer dress as lightweight, and this looks like a great summer weight. And the shoes are gorgeous! Cute? Ummm... that seems to kind of fall short of the bar you have set with this outfit.

Question about the shoes... I've almost ordered them countless times. But I don't because I'm concerned about how the ankle straps fit. I think I read they are not all adjustable? Do you find they fit well?

Elizabeth, the straps definitely have issues for many from the reviews. The top two adjust and the bottom one does not, and it is a little loose on me. But I think it would hurt otherwise. I have skinny bones but a bigger ankle joint due to sprains, so this works for me. I will say they run a little short. I am 5.5 and my heel just makes the edge of a 6. But they are remarkably wide enough for my duck foot. And comfortable for an evening though I couldn't walk all over the city all day in them.

They are pretty fierce and worth a try!

Your dress and Valentino knock-offs are great for the party, imo. You look fantastic in them.
But I gotta wonder about "summer dress," in any case. Aren't you in Alaska? It will be at least a couple of months (or a few) before I'm wearing anything like a "summer dress" here in Seattle!

55 degrees is summer here - it's kind of sad. Sadder still that I'm used to it!
