In June I am off to a wedding - the dress code says formal but that will be NZ formal - not black tie. It is almost mid winter and mostly indoors - a second wedding for a special friend. It is in a boutique hotel in Rotorua.

I purchased this dress and plan to wear it. What footwear and bag do you think would work? I think hosiery will be needed so I think I need closed toe shoes. And what jewelry would you wear? I am confident black is perfectly appropriate but don't want to darken it down.

The dress has copper buttons - they are small but may affect other choices. I will either wear my teal wool coat, my caramel fake fur or a vintage fur cape.

I was thinking pewter heels with a tonal clutch and maybe sparkly earrings. And nude hose?

I have attached photos of my bags and heels - I think maybe new shoes and either an existing bag (I also have lots of options for borrowing a clutch so can ask friends and sisters).

ETA: after a lot of looking online and locally I ended up with black classic court shoes/pumps. Flat shoes are having their moment here and heels are not as easy to come by. Aside from black there was blush and rose gold- but I wanted something more classic as I see these being my go to heels for the next 5-10 years. I ended up with these lovely Italian leather pumps- really well balanced and comfortable. I will wear nude hose and some fringed earrings.

I did appreciate the advice and did a U turn as copper would have been perfect / but hard to come by in genuine leather at the mid heel height I wanted.
