Styling of relaxed pants - YouLookFab Forum

Hello all,

Today I took on styling, what I thought would be a slam dunk for these pants I recently purchased (not jeans!) and just got myself completely in a fuss! First the pants, I think they have this great relaxed vibe, love the stripe, but upon styling them realize they may be a tad big, hence the belt in the orange tee pic. I have trouble with the rise on pants, if the rise fits, sometimes the waist and behind is too big. I may try a dryer experiment with the pants! So #1, orange tee and sneakers, didn't like the way the tee came out of the pants, #2 blue sleeveless top, athletic vibe? (wish your could see the back, it crisscrosses, but without showing the bra!) and #3, it was too cool for the sleeveless top! Allowances please: hair was damp, no makeup!

Have the pants altered at the waist. So easy! And they look super cute the way you styled them.

I like #3 best. KILLER vibe. LOVE the white shirt and slides!

#2 works well too. Not too athletic.

#2 and #3 are pretty perfect. #1 got potential - needs some fun playing with different accessories ( snake print belt in brown or tan?.. ).

I think these pants look so great here(don't see any fit problem), love all 3-but last one is the classic with edge, wow!

Great pants, I really like how you styled them in #2 and #3. They could use a bit of taking in at the waist. You could also look at Janet's recent outfit with similar pants (in her case olive), she styled them to perfection.

I love 2 and 3 and think 1 just needs a different belt....a white belt would be fab for you.

Great colour bottoms. #3 is my favourite on you (a ‘10’ really), but I like the matching footwear in #2.

Great pants Definitely #3 is my favorite look although #2 is pretty terrific too. I agree the waist is a little big, but that's an easy alteration.

They look great on you and seem versatile and useful! #3 is really great casual cool. I agree that a waist alteration is really helpful — I have to have them pretty frequently even on jeans, and it makes all the difference in not needing a belt, or not tugging my pants up all day long.

I agree with the consensus - great pants, love #3 especially but I think they all work. Would love to see a different belt with #1 or no belt.

Sal, I tried this one white belt I had and it was too thin, oh well, I need another belt! I have belts that are 20 years old, such great quality.

RobinF, I need a belt, or else they feel like they are falling off!, but agree with all, will the pants to the tailor!

The pants look great, and I like all the outfits. Glad you are going to get them taken in, for a better fit at the waist. They'll be so much more comfortable and versatile (i.e., you won't have to be searching for the right belt all the time)!
