While binge watching both seasons of Slow Horses over the holidays, I developed a style crush on the character Catherine Standish, played by Saskia Reeves. Standish is slow burn background type, who may just be the best spy of all in the end. Her style also did not stand out at first, but I came to appreciate her quietly beautiful prints and pretty hair. Then I realized that I had some items I could use to emulate her look. Unfortunately it's not easy to find pictures of the character online; these were the best examples I could find to show you (1,2)
I love soft, pretty, long grey hairstyles these days, but my own greys are coming in coarse and crazy. In the course of this inspo exercise and taking the photos. I realized that's why I should actually keep wearing some flowing styles now while most of my hair is still soft - even though I am getting layered shaggy cuts to work with the grey rather than trying to fight it, I can still do softer looks too. Definitely need to work on my bang styling skills!
Finds included. The brown cords are looser on me and a little wider at the hems than shown. The Birks are my solution for winter office days when I want to take off my winter boots-the colour is closer to the brown sweater in person. I feel very "subtly stylish librarian", aka "Standish".
