Statement T...do you?

Statement T's never really featured in my wardrobe, though I did have a much worn 'Levi's' - T in my teen years. The sweater with 'RELAX' on it was a very odd thing for me to buy, but it has turned into a wardrobe workhorse, and gets (positive) comments for the irony. (I am anything but relaxed!)

Last week I saw this T-shirt at the grocery store and had to have it. It is Joe Fresh. I could not find it on their site, so it might be old stock. I've already worn it 3 times! Once with black jeans (when I got my root canal procedure) once with white jeans (picking up my race kit in Ottawa and visiting the sports expo) and today with my 'new' cut offs for gardening. Such a simple thing, but it makes me happy!

I do not wear tshirts at all except for the gym: I much prefer the shirts.

It looks cute, I don't think it's old stock. I seen them at my superstore not long ago. I always check out the Joe stuff when I am in the store. They often have really cute stuff. Did you know Joe is the the same Joe that started Club Monaco and gave Alfred Sung his start....just a little trivia...

Love the t, and yes I have plenty although my young niece 13 borrows them forever then claims that they are hers. I wear them very casually.

I once bought a french connection 'fcuk' t-shirt, and realized almost immediately (but not immediately enough to not buy it) that it was really not the statement I want to make!

I think it's perfect for you! I've never been a fan of statement Ts with words but I love them with graphics, especially ones that have a clear association with the person wearing them.

My favorite T has a silkscreen of a retro downhill skier--a freebie when I bought my Volkl racing skis eons ago; anyone who knows me immediately understands the connection.

Super cute tshirt. I would wear it if I could find joe fresh locally.

I just caught onto tshirts like this recently. They work well for my lifestyle and I find they read a bit sportier or dressier than regular run of the mill tshirts.

I don't have any, but would absolutely wear one if the right picture or message caught my eye. I like yours a lot - and think it's great to wear our best t's both for "good" and for things like yard work! Might as well look great doing it

I just ordered a statement tee from Jcrew. It says "Kiss Kiss" on it. It's summer. I reckon it's time to let myself go free wih my clothes, silly or not.

I like graphic tees but not usually those with writing. Exceptions: I bought a life's a beach t shirt to wear to the gym, and I have a relax t shirt à la Frankie Goes to Hollywood that I wear for pajamas and to annoy my husband who's a 70s lover.

Great t-shirt! I love bike tees. I have one too.

I don't do clothes with words on them normally, but I love things (not just tops) with offbeat images silkscreened on. I have all kinds: a rabbit, an anatomical heart with aortic arch, a stingray, an old-school skull-and-crossbones (cuter than you'd think), moths, architectural plans, a nest with eggs in, a seahorse, a giant fly, the periodic table, a wraparound snake, a list of prime numbers...

I confess, I love my graphic tees. Here's my latest, of the Baltimore neighborhoods. They're always something meaningful to me -- home-grown designs, bands I love, etc.

ETA: another relevant choice -- purchased after I finished my first century. I have the girlie version.

I have my marathon T's. I'm not sure if those count? I also purchased a Save the Bees T this year from J Crew. I really liked the design for some reason. I generally don't like T's with slogans or words. I find them distracting, and sometimes they are hard to interpret and I don't want to send mixed messages.

I've got a black Massive Attack t-shirt with the logo in red on the front. They're one of my favorite bands. I wear it on a regular basis, but the bar for graduate student attire in my lab is rather low. I also have another black t-shirt with a picture of the Mandelbrot set on it; I wear it on a regular basis as well.

Since tees have been a substantial part of my wardrobe, I've had loads of statement or graphic pieces over the years.

Had a pretty awesome one that was about toxic cleaning products. ON the front was printed the word dangerous, with the info about chemicals in smaller print on the lower back of the shirt. So, you can imagine, that "dangerous" got a lot of attention since the explanatory info wasn't immediately apparent. I miss that shirt..

Most of my tees are worn out, so I've been re-tee-ing myself, intensionally choosing messages or pictures that present ideas that are meaningful to me or that sound attractive.

I'm laughing because this thread reminded me that I *tried* to cull my collection recently. Ahem, you see how successful I was. I got rid of exactly one shirt. Some of these date back 30+ years. Yes, I'm sentimental.

Not right now but I have had various ones at different times. A couple of NZ ones, a couple of breast cancer fundraiser ones. DH has quite a lot. Have also had various sporting event type ones.

I would wear the right one, I have kind of gone off plain knit tees at the moment and mostly wearing tees in different fabrics.

I went off tees, but am starting to 'feel' them again. Can't say I have one, tho, that has an 'it' graphic/message for me. I have the same problem with tattoos...

Oh wow - you look great in that outfit! Stunning and glowing and healthy! And, I love your tee - and yes, I am a fan of graphic/statement tees. I like to wear them with a black blazer and BF jeans - or black blazer and dressy bottoms. Very fun!
