Specs part 2 (purple and red)

It was a whirlwind of specs shopping during my lunch break from work. Today was dedicated to auditioning coloured specs. Here are the red and purple frames I tried. I honestly couldn't get a good look between not being able to see without my glasses and shine from glass and mirrored surfaces.

These pics help me, but I would like your opinion on the colours and shapes.

I like the shape of the first pair the best and the more curved ones of the rest next. I am not sure I have a favorite for the color but prefer the ones that are not the darkest ones. I find the medium colors to work better with your fair skin.

I could be totally out to lunch though because I have a heck of a time picking glasses.

I like 1 and 3 as well. And I agree, the lighter colours seem to suit you best.

I like the first pair here. I like that the colour is a little more subdued and the shape is the best out of all of them, imo.

I may like #3 shape best. It is kind of a blend of round and rectangle that seems to suit you and is a little more delicate framework than #1. but still a full frame, so strong enough.
I saw the colors in the other group too and like medium contrast in thhis frame too-not the pales. Tortoise or lighter brown-or medium olive or something?

I think I like 1 and 3 the best, too. Is 1 a really strong red? How does it play with your hair? Are there colour options?

I like 1, 3 and 5 best. I think the color and shape of 3 are my favorite but they look crooked on you. That is probably an easy fix. The rectangular specs in 2 especially don't seem a good shape for you to my eye.

Thanks for weighing in. I appreciate the feedback. I am trying to find some olive or green frames, however have only found forest or dark olive (which I already have with my Kate Spades). Purples and reds seem to be in abundance, however the plums and wines suit me better, I think.

#1 is actually an opaque pale to medium mauve, and #3 is a translucent plum.

Tomorrow I will be at the optometrist. She, and her assistant liked the specs below best, and are bringing in the purple version. Somehow the white behind the black, and the pink on the arms makes it less heavy, but they are high contrast. The purple ones are backed by pink, which I'm not sure about. They feel/fit nice, though. I'm not committing, and will try on some more.

*Sigh* this is so hard! My prescription costs a fortune (around $900) so glasses are a real investment for me, and I want to get them right!

I like 1 best, for shape. The white notch on #8 is interesting, too. It will be interesting to see how the latest Guess pair looks on you.

(I'm going to try on a couple new frames today, too! I really liked how they looked, so they ordered them in for me to see in person and try on.)

The modified cat's eye seems to suit. When I tally the votes from the three try-ones, the ones below come out with the most votes.

Of these three, I like #1 the best. They look like they fit your face the best, the color is flattering, and the frames aren't overwhelming your features.

Of this set, I'm with the majority in liking 1 and 3. I think the coloring of #3 has my vote, though.

Of your "tallied votes from across threads, here are the 3 top contenders" I do really love #2 on you though I understand you may want a color-color. I feel TopContender #2 really suits your coloring and has enough presence without getting in the way of seeing YOU first vs glasses-then-you.

I hear you on the financial cost of a $$ Rx, which I know often limits frame choices, too. [Or rather I did -- I actually had LASIK recently after 30+ years of bad nearsightedness and it's a whole new world. Out with contacts and backup glasses, only need to keep worrying about frames for reading glasses!]

Take your time choosing this 2nd pair and go with what you feel drawn to the most. Others have to look at 'em but you need to be excited to pop them on!

I like 1 and 3 from the set at the top of this post, and also #3 from the second photo set in your comments. It's hard to see the color with the dim lighting (I don't understand why some optical shops keep their lighting so dim; like you, I have very little visibility once my glasses come off!) so it's a little hard to see the specific colors of each of these frames. I'm definitely drawn to how the rounded cat-eye shape harmonizes with your delicate features.

I love #1. Don't really like any of the others that much. Shopping for frames is exhausting - I was so thankful to have Fabbers with me in Seattle!

WIthout reading the other responses yet, here goes - I like #1 and #3 best. I think you look better with rounded bottom edges and lighter frames.
