Hi fabbers, my new specs are lovely but I wanted to know your thoughts on what I do at work going to meetings.

Meetings are held two floors below the office space. There is a bit of a walk across a stone reception and the meeting spaces are smart.

I carry a notebook, pen in a sleeve and A4 bound papers.

What do I do with my glasses? Put them in a case? Put them on top of my head (doesn't really work for me as they slip out and I feel silly)? Carry them, but I'm concerned about dropping them? I don't think I can do a necklace holder thing, unless you thought it was the best solution, but it would be a good option as I don't like the pfaffing with the on / of. And I think the case is the same problem.

What is least aging?

How about carrying the pen in a bigger pencil case you can also keep the specs in?

Or just wear them on the way? Or is that not possible? I have to say I have no experience with this because I wear mine constantly.

I also wear mine all the time. But the need to carry sunglasses has driven my last 2 handbag purchases (last years, big enough to carry my sunnies, this year big enough to carry in a case because when last years broke I wasn't covered under warranty because they weren't in a case)

I'd be tempted to just bring the case.

Ohmigosh, I have had this problem trying to port fiddly bits to meetings. It feels stupid to carry a bag when you're not leaving the premises. I kinda like one of those band boards... I don't have the right term, a Google is not turning up the product...

Sometimes I will fold them and put them outside of my jacket pocket especially if it's a short distance.

Why can't you just wear your specs into the meeting?

I assume you're either carting reading glasses or distance glasses you don't usually need? [Which you can't wear to the meeting because you'd feel dizzy in them walking etc?]

BTDT with readers and it is a PITA.

Because my meetings were all on carpet I just carried mine along with everything else and tried to be careful. Others would bring their cases. In retrospect* I would just buy a small clutch-with-strap (blanking on name) and shove encased glasses, phone, etc in there. Can carry or dangle on wrist if toting other crap. No one will care but if you want to be extra-conservative just get a dark leather.

*I was only in a +1 reader, so when I had lasik this fall for distance my surgeon "bought me some time" by customizing my vision to work without them for a while.

Handbag! Wristlet (as Vix suggests) or clutch or crossbody or put papers etc. in a structured tote that you carry from meeting to office.

I also wear mine all the time but I assume yours are readers or something along those lines? In that case I would first get a hard case (trust me you want a hard one for protection) and then stick the case in a bag with all the other stuff. Or if you don't wish to lug a bag you could just carry them in the case which should protect them from a fall.

This can be so annoying. At that stage I ended up getting bifocals with practically clear tops and wore them all the time. I wish you luck finding a solution that works for you. Maybe clothes with lots of roomy pockets? Travel vests and jackets, cargo pants...

Thank you all for your suggestions. All very good ideas and I'm going to

1. Unpick pockets of my jackets to slip in specs when needed
2. Find a largish pencil case that I can use when mood is right
3. Consider one of the attached wristlets from jigsaw, which are good size and pretty, but bright colours and may be a darker colour may be better.

I can carry stuff but hands get filled with fob for door, pen, notebook, papers eto, but really then an extra hand! Wearing the glasses when walking is kind of okayish but I do feel sort of odd when I do.
