Deb, on your "what is your pattern" thread a week ago, I mentioned I'd recently bought a herringbone patterned, fluted sleeve shirt and wasn't sure if I was going to keep it. Well, I've worn it twice already so I guess I'm keeping it. I am still on the fence about it a bit. I think it's because I am very much a mood dresser. Some days (most days?) I want to dress simply in solids and quiet patterns and neutral colors. Then there are other days I want to break out of that and want to dress more loudly.
This is a "more loudly" outfit for me! The pattern is big. The sleeves are huge. The contrast is high. I do love b&w outfits, but usually quieter ones with less pattern. And then there's the red -- not my usual muted red. I love this coat but only wear it when I'm in a particular mood.
- Alfani blouse
- LOFT legging jeans (last year)
- AT coat (a few seasons ago)
- Clutch from Italy, gifted from my daughter when she was studying abroad
- Sam Edelman booties
The other time I wore this blouse, I didn't take any pics but it was with dark wash jeans, a black leather moto, and black leather Chelsea booties With a furry black dot print clutch.
This blouse is really comfortable and I love the shape of it, but I do fret that the pattern is too large scale for 5'0 me. I am so used to scaling patterns down to my size. But something tickles my fancy with this one. Especially with the oversized dramatic sleeves. Am I crazy?
