Hi Carter --
I think the overall "read" on the color is good -- looks like it tones in well with your natural coloring!
From here it's a matter of seeing how they wash-n-wear...fingers crossed for you! I always found that was where highlights and I scuffled, ha (I didn't like the tone they took on) but they did help break up the telltale grey roots. If things start looking brassy talk to your colorist about special shampoos or toners in between visits.
FWIW my patterning sounds a lot like yours, aka very Stacy London. I sure feel your pain with the ever-shortening touchup requirements; I was on a 1 inch/month growout cycle. The clump of grey roots on my right side was the bane of my existence for decades...now it's one of my favorite things about my hair. It actually does make it a little easier to grow out (ignoring the first 3 months or so, anyway!).
If the new approach ends up not working out for you and you decide to say goodbye to the dye, here's a possible preview of what to expect (photos at 9 and 10 months in).
In the meantime, enjoy the new 'do!
