Some work/travel outfits - YouLookFab Forum

We've been so busy at our house with college visits, Eagle Scout projects etc., that I haven't have much time to check in but I hope everyone is doing well out there. You all look so fab, all the time!

I still don't have a full length mirror, so I grab photos in restrooms of hotels and hotel rooms when I get a chance. I have been messing with the edit function on the photos to try to make them look better.

There is nothing super exciting about these outfits except my adoration of these ponte bootleg pants in pictures 2 and 3 from Chicos that are still in stock and still on sale. I just ordered more. They are my favorite travel item right now - very slimming, chic and comfortable, especially for long trips like I took last week to an event in Las Vegas.

I cannot believe that my key ring - a lovely carabiner - is visible outside of my purse with my professional outfit in the first photo...must be sure to remove!

I want to thank whoever it was on YLF that alerted us to the sale on the grey pencil skirt a couple of months ago. I immediately ordered it. These tips from our community are so helpful.

I have been hunting everywhere for black ponte bootcuts so thank you for the tip on chico's. I will be trying those this week - so great to have for long driving trips and airplanes.

I like the gray and striped jacket combo very much!

I wanted to mention that these pants are a snug at first, but they stretch a bit, so don't be afraid to buy them if they feel slightly tight. I usually wear a .5 at Chicos, but these pants only come in whole sizes, and I've been fine with a 0. I do not put them in the dryer.

I have a pair in charcoal, and don't like them as much. The fabric is different from the black, and not as nice.

The jacket is Caslon from Nordstrom - half season or a season ago, i think. It is washable and I totally love it.

Pardon my ignorance, but it's on YLF that I first heard of "ponte" and the few descriptions I've found on the net makes the fabric sound very interesting. How do you know that a garment is made of ponte? Is the word ponte specified on the label or is it some deduction that you make based on the composition of the knit?

I travel for work like you do. Don't worry about hiding the key ring, knowing where those keys are ALL THE TIME is like a lifeline while on the road! (for me anyway. And yes, mine hang obnoxiously on my handbag every single day.)

if I know well ponte is a blend of fabrics not too flimsy, not clingy - that has good weight- some strech(but not too much) and doesn't crease. Very much suitable for travelling, and more...
