Some shopping updates - YouLookFab Forum

The two other tops I had on order, the silver linen tee and the blue Boden shirt, didn't work out. No pics, they both were a definite return because of fit issues.

I'm still waiting for the silk dress, they should ship it at the end of February (#1). And a scarf I had thought about ordering a while ago came back in stock on a discount and I placed an order (#2). I've also just placed an order for the wool skirt I was wondering about (#3). I just couldn't resist and if the fit works this will be the perfect everyday skirt in fall and winter. I also have a corduroy skirt on order, see #4. I know that this is probably a poison eye piece for most of you, but if the fit is right this could be a really inexpensive practical piece to wear with boots and a sweater on casual days. I dig corduroy...

I'm going to take a break with shopping and looking for now, at least until March. I'm going to decide how to proceed when I know whether the silk dress has worked out.

Sending the infinity scarf back. It's more decorative than practical because the length is awkward.

Sounds like a good plan, Astrid. I think the corduroy skirt is cute. Is the nap running two ways on the skirt? If so, that is unusual and could offer some interesting textural detail. My only complaint with corduroy skirts is that they can be tricky to wear with tights -- they tend to cling. Or that has been my experience. And then if it is a plushy corduroy it can look worn quite quickly. But if the price is right it is well worth a try.

Thanks Suz. Yes, it's two ways... The cut is slightly a-line and knee length. And it's an inexpensive piece, so I wouldn't need it to hold up ages to feel like I got my money's worth.

I've been a bit scarce on the forum this last week, so I'm catching up a little. I didn't know you'd definitely got the wool skirt on order, I'm glad. You have some nice items on their way to you. Psst.. I rather like corduroy myself I like the two-way nap on that skirt. I hope everything works out for you.

I love all these pieces, Astrid. A grey skirt is a must have for me, the silk dress is gorgeous, I dig corduroy too,and the scarf could work with all of them.

Nice things! I really like corduroy, and I wish I'd thought of changing the direction of the fabric in the way this one is before I made the two cord skirts I just finished! It's a nice detail. I'm glad you got the wool skirt because you've been thinking about this one for a while and so you must really want it. I think it will be very useful and last for ages, besides looking chic too.

I have a first update - the corduroy skirt was in the mail today and it didn't fit. Hopefully there won't be more returns!

Sadly, there's bad news about the other skirt too. It came today and it doesn't fit... But at least I tried it, I know I would have kept thinking about it otherwise.
