WIB: New Cut Out Booties & Lizard Flats

Happy Weekend Fabbers:)

I took my MIL out today so she could buy some new tops and Im not sure what happened but I came home with a new pair of flats and a pair of booties.

#1 & #2 Black Lizard Flat - bought on a bit of an impulse. I wear flats much more in the warm weather than I do in winter and summer is dragging on so these are a nice 'pick me up'. I am also finding my more traditional ballet flats are going unworn - not sure what do about them. Tempted to move them on?

#2 Cutout crossover booties. They have some gold hardwear at the toe and on the top of the heel. I could have potentially tried the size down but there were none left. This is the size I normally wear. There is a little room at the back but I am not sure if that is a deal breaker. I actually like the 'flower pot effect' but.... They fit well and are comfortable.

What do you think? Good additions to my closet?

I think the missing strap may partly be a deal breaker for your ballet flats that are going unworn and maybe even the first shoes shown here... I worry they would be slipping off. I am firmly on Team Practical and I speak from that perspective - and this is why I'm undecided about gorgeous pair of red shoes I keep my eye on these past weeks. No strap is becoming more of an issue for me lately.

I like the boots *a lot a lot a lot*, but I have a poison eye for the flowerpot effect. But, since it's behind the leg and therefore not visible, I am tempted to say that you keep them, because they really are gorgeous and look great on your feet.

Heel that's a shame they are gorgeous shoes. These actually fit my foot extremely well and fit firmly and comfortable...no slippage at all.

Then that's deftly a great addition to your wardrobe imo Its more edgy looking than the classic ballet flats. The ones I bought weren't good enough even with a size down. Must be something to do with my skinny feet.

Great, finds, both. Especially if the comfortable box is ticked. Because from a style point of view, they are good looking and offer two on trend options that should play well with your wardrobe. I love those booties and D'Orsays that stay on are hard to find.

I'm swooning over the flats! The cut out booties are great, too- similar to a style I pinned several weeks ago. If both are comfy, then I think you've scored some fab footwear.

Was tempted by this one also. Red and black tartan, or tartan/plaid variations are popping up everywhere here:)

Love them both, but especially the flats! I can see them both working inn your style.

Can you wear the booties around a bit? I find that extra bit of space causes rubbing and blisters on me. May not be an issue with these, but shoes that cause pain tend not to get worn no matter how cute.

I love both pairs. The flats are fabulous and I love them as a closed-toe alternative to a ballet flat. I think the booties are amazing, and I personally don't see the "flower pot" effect because they fit so perfectly on the front of the foot. The gap at the back doesn't bother me visually at all, as long as they fit well enough to be comfortable to wear.

I've found that my ballet flats are languishing unworn as well. I think the shape feels too "sweet" to me and maybe the too-classic, lack of "edge" shape might be why they aren't feeling quite right for you as well?

I love both for your style. I don't need straps to keep my feet from slipping out of flats either. I don't see round toed ballet flats fitting your style these days, so if you have those in your closet, it may be time to let them go.

Deborah - I like them both very much!! I am not usually a flat girl but those pointy toe are really pretty. Love the booties. I am on a major jag on cut out booties since that's my version of summer sandals. Very pretty and if you dont' mind the heel being a bit high, then they are totally awesome!!

Both pairs are great! I also really like the tartan pair and think they would suit you well.

I also find I am not wearing my ballet flats as much anymore. I only like them with boyfriend jeans which I mostly wear cuffed but at full length (I order tall sizes so this works for me) and slouchy trousers. They feel too sweet with skinnies or boot cuts. For my style I think the slouchiness gives me enough edge to balance the sweetness. Of course YMWV.

I love those flats! Both pairs :). I have to admit I'm not a fan of the gap at the back of the booties, even though I love the booties. They just look too big.

Well I love them both of course! Try putting an black insert of half insert in the sandals - might just fill up the gap. It doesn't bother me as is though.

Thanks everyone for your input. I had thought today to try an insert for the boots so I will give that go. It might just do the trick but I am not that concerned about he gap at the back. I have small feet and small ankles and I note that some of my other boots do this too yet they are a perfect fit:)

I wore the D'Orsay flats today - have to admit that despite reading about them here I had misunderstood and thought D'Orsay was a brand duh! Did my research last night and now I understand:)

This is the first pair I have noted in our stores and I may just want to replace my ballet flats with this style flat:)

On first wearing the were very comfortable and I do love how they look. I wore them with skinny pants and suspect I may end up preferring them with pants rather than skirts.

Love the flats for you. I tried on some D'Orsay flats myself today, but alas it was not my day for them, they don't stay on my feet. For the boots, I'm having a bit more trouble imagining them with your wardrobe and style, but maybe I just need some pictures to help.
