Timely to see Inge’s blogger outfit post today — yesterday I wore my snakeskin print skirt for the first time. Our temps here hit 82 yesterday (too much too soon for my taste), and I had been outside doing hours of sweaty yard work, so after a shower I wanted a breezy outfit to run some errands and get a pedicure.
So the styling is totally different from the blog post, but as I said there, it’s just proof that a good midi skirt can be really versatile.
Also, I confess I bucked the advice to hack length off the skirt. I actually took it in to the tailor at Nordstrom, and she and I agreed that we didn’t like the shorter lengths we tried as much as the full-length version — somehow it started looking too much like business wear. Longer seems to work on me.
In retrospect, I think I could have sized down in the top — it’s very roomy. I was concerned about it being too cropped, and I initially tried it on with jeans, but I tightened the tie a little to make it a bit shorter with the skirt, and I think it works. I suspect it may shrink a little in the laundry too.
So, skirt, top, and sandals are all new. But I changed out sandals at the last moment when I had the idea to get a pedicure, so I’d be wearing sandals that wouldn’t rub on my freshly-polished toenails.
