Thanks, all!
Irina, when I lived in Ontario I rarely wore long sleeve button up shirts, even though it is a great style for me (easy to fit on me and tends to suit me) mainly because they were too hot for my summer climate and in cooler temps I like knitwear. Now I wear many more of these shirts and so feel I can justify more purchases. Until I moved out here, I had not bought a long sleeved shirt in years.
Katerina, Smittie -- yes, this neckline is one of my absolute favourites -- it's not a Mandarin, exactly (that comes higher on the neck. It's really a collarless button front shirt. Like those 19th C men's shirts where the collars were interchangeable -- you'd button the collar and cuffs to the shirt.
Angie, I LOVE your bright shirts. I was really hoping to get the Gap linen shirt in fuchsia but they were out of it in my size. I might keep checking back. And thank you for the compliment. I really like white with the silver hair, too.
Synne, not seersucker but multiple layers of cotton gauze. Seersucker would probably be cooler, but this has its uses in my not-super-hot climate.
Lisa, I was actually hoping for a more gauzy-gauze when I ordered it -- I have an old one from Loft that I adore and can't get rid of -- it just works so well on me. (Weirdly, this cheap item has now lasted me for 6 hard wearing summers, going on 7 now...). Anyway, it's super thin gauze and is the coolest thing I own, but with a bit of a sleeve so not too exposing...I love it.
Janet, I was tempted by the linen one too but they didn't have my size in the colour I wanted. Maybe it is just as well from your report!
Jenn, thanks -- I love the balloon jeans for a change, too.
