Shorts style

I was inspired by Angie's blog post on shorts yesterday, as well as looks by forum members who were also inspired by the blog post. . . .
Here's what I'm wearing today, for a day of hanging out at home after going out for breakfast and coffee:

denim shorts (Kut from the Kloth, a few years back)
tile-print boxy top (Nally & Millie)
wedge sandals (DV by Dolce Vita, a couple of seasons ago)
cross-body bag (Brahmin, last year)
hooded jacket (Layers Squared, a season or two ago)
piano wire necklace and bracelet (unsure of designer, but it's from a favorite boutique called Renee's in Everett)

What a fab shorts outfit. The textures and muted palette are lovely and you wear your shorts at the length I like too. The whole outfit has a nice easy going vibe.

This is a very put together look and I really like the shorts and how they are tapered so nicely. The top looks so comfortable and stylish - and I do love summer jackets. I wondered to myself if you play piano and that is why the jewelry spoke to you...

Very good guess, Texstyle, yes, I play the piano for fun. I keep forgetting to show the jewelry to my piano teacher!

I LOVE your shorts outfit!
The longer, slim-fitting silhouette looks great with the loose top, and the sandals and necklace make the outfit look very polished. I like it with the jacket, too!

Firstly, as a musician I must have a piano wire necklace! It looks terrific!

I think this is one of your bests, FC. It makes you look incredible long and lean, the color palette is neutral, but bright and clean, and the elements look amazing "new" when they are, in fact a couple of seasons old. This is encouraging to me, since I can't possible wear new items all the time!
