Short hair

Hi
Looking for ideas for a short haircut. Not sure yet but I kind of want to try. I am scared to do it and that is making me want to try even more! I told my boys this is going to be the summer of conquering our fears and this will be one of mine! ..maybe

Anyway thinking not as short as a pixie but shorter than a bob. Shaggy. Modern.

Ideas? Opinions? Am I crazy?

I've mostly had short hair, though now it's just past my shoulders (and boy, that pony tail option sure is convenient!). As for short styles, I like this look (below) because it is still swingy, which has a feminine feel, but reveals the neck (cool and sexy). And you can use a headband or jeweled clip on the long bangs if you want to switch it up/keep it out of your eyes. If you have nice ears, this shows that off, too. (Dainty sparkly earrings seem perfect in the summer.)

I can't comment as I have no idea what you look like But....as a short hair person myself, Pinterest is a veritable fount of ideas for short hair. Just type in blonde pixies, or brunette pixie bobs or whatever you are after - and you'll fall into a rabbit hole of wonder

Hi Momo --

Hopefully your stylist will have great ideas about what will and won't be easy with your hair texture and thickness, but maybe we can help too.

It looks like I see some natural wave in your hair -- would you say that's accurate. And then is your hair thick/thin/medium, and do you have a little or lot of it (hard to tell in photos)?

FWIW, whenever I can't seem to do anything with my hair I'm for sure due for a cut. You may not need to go pixie length...something cheekbone-y could create a whole new look/feel too.

I am on the short hair journey, too. Just got mine cut to a short-ish bob (it was just below the shoulders). I do want to go shorter still -- but am kinda easing my way into it...

How funny. In my mind you have curly hair, but now that I look again - you have wavy hair. It could probably be made curly with layers, a diffuser and some mousse. I think I'd start with a chin length bob and your natural wave.

Good idea to ease your way into it. There are some apps where you put your photo in and you can try different hairstyles. Can't remember names though

Definitely look at lots of pictures! I always bring pictures in to my stylist when I go so she knows what kind of look I'm going for.

Vix- my hair is thick and I have a lot of hair!
Wavy when wet but the weight tends to pull it straighter as the day goes on, it takes forever to dry and it is super hot when it is even slightly warm out.

Chelle and Sally - I feel like jumping right in! I am terrified but I feel like I need to just do it
My hair also grows super fast so it won't be a long commitment if I don't like it.

Rachy- I do have quite a bit of wave, I have this dream that if I didn't that's so much weight to my hair it would be cute and wavy. Like one of those actresses like Audrey Tautou. Probably not the case but I could try?

Robin F. Yes I need pictures. I trust my stylist but I absolutely don't want to end up with a mom type haircut.

Viva - that looks really interesting, I let my times subscription lapse ( I am past 10 free articles this month ) but as soon as I can I will get back on and read this.

You look really good in long hair but you will probably look terrific in short hair, too. Your description of your hair sounds just like mine and I keep mine short because it gets me really hot in summer. I found great photos of haircuts on Pinterest and printed the one I liked best and showed my hairdresser and she was able to copy it.
