and in another post about them (which I can't seem to find) Trekkiegirl suggested I try fixing them with nail polish!!
So I did. I bought the closest match I could find, put on two layers and then covered it with some clear polish (I googled to get this sequence),
It is a pretty good result, and I don't think it will be that visible from the normal eye level.
This was handy given that my metallic sandals have broken, and buys me a bit more time to look around for a new pair of work shoes.
