Shoes for Melbourne need your help

I am going to Melbourne for 3 days next week for the induction for my new job. Corporate dress though not necessarily suits. Temps forecast to range between 21 to 33.
I have run out of time to buy and break in new shoes.
Would love your input as to which one/es to choose.
1 comfy but scuffed and a little undone
2 still wearing in
3 old worn in and low heeled
4 heels too high for comfort. Interview shoes!
5 Also too high to walk much in

I have no experience with summer rain. None forecast for next week but it is raining this week.

Depends what you are wearing. I would take two pairs. A closed in pair and a sandal. Our weather is all over the place at the moment. Do you run hot or cold? Keep that in mind. Melbourne I guess is like most cities. Some people are exceptionally well dressed and others are not What do you think you would be most comfortable in??

I need to start thinking about a dinner outfit if Im going to be meeting up with you, Lyn and Kiran.... just in case you don't recognise me... I will be the one wearing black lol...

The most comfortable (and least stylish) would be number 3. Number one is my favourite but the patent has scuffed so it is a bit unstylish. The silver sandals were what I was planning to wear - bearable with bandaids.

I am sure you will look smashing and that I WILL recognize you! I am probably just going to wear my work clothes for our dinner - so blue and grey will be the order of the day (night)

When I think corporate I think not sandals, so 1, 3 and 4 all look ok to me.

There are some patent-leather scuff removal techniques, as I recall, for true scuffs in particular, not major damage. May work? I have not tried yet--would need to re-look up on internet--but I love patent and yet a little scuff can do it in and has led me to toss some shoes that now I think I could have saved.

My cobbler's assistant told me that he uses furniture polish to remove scuffs on patent leather, in case that helps. I think he uses a brand called Behold--not sure if you have it in Aussie Land.

I like the silver sandals, but I would take the first pair also just in case the sandals become too painful.

Hi Anne,
we have had quite a bit of rain recently, so would recommend one closed and one sandal as Deborah suggested.
Will you be doing much walking?

Lyn I don't know how much walking will be required but I think I should be prepared to be able to be walk a few blocks.

Mm. That's pretty damaged. But I think I might prefer a damaged professional shoe to the worn in casual one (#3). Things happen and that's ok, but you should show you know what things are about. Like, there's nothing worse than when someone shows up at the bakery for a job interviewing wearing a suit and tie.

Thanks Rachylou. I do think #3 would be appropriate - not interesting, or fashionable or anything, but appropriate!
