My very oldest friend, her sister’s son has died. Only 28. I’m doing a mad drive, 477 miles, tomorrow (no flights that don’t make a bizarre detour to Vegas, turning 1.5 hours into 11). I will not make the funeral, but will spend a day with the family during the shiva (her mom has super kindly offered me a bed).

I expect it to be a 100 degrees. I want to wear this grey dress, but it’s sleeveless, but it will be 100 degrees, but a/c. I have two cardigans to cover up with. The black is thinner and a v-neck. It may be too thin and doesn’t fit as well over the dress. The green may be better on both fronts, but is it sober enough?

My friend’s dad was somewhat conservative, but the family is more casual now… and I think a black suit or silk dress wouldn’t be right here since it will be an overnight and all.

Thoughts?
