Hi all, I'm sorry for the radio silence this week, but it's been one of the busiest weeks of the school year for me, as we're finishing the first half year now. I've been grading papers to the moon and back - phew.

Let me remind you of the clues from the January Challenge Calendar this week:

Monday: Animal print
Tuesday: Dress over pants
Wednesday: Winter White
Thursday: Patterned/colored tights
Friday: Full skirt outfit

Which ones did you try? Please share the results below!

Here are my attempts at beating the January blues this week:
Monday: A hint of leopard
I don't feel like an all over leopard pattern these days, so I layered a shirt in the pattern under a charcoal sweater.Pleated black pants and cognac brogues finish the outfit. I felt good! Cognac bag and grey coat (not shown).

Tuesday: Monochromatic Dress over Pants
I layered a black sweater dress over a white shirt and black cigarette pants. Black pointy toe booties finished the outfit. This looked better IRL, promise. I quite liked the outfit, and it was very comfortable. the cognac messenger bag was a great contrast (not shown). Bonus pic of the view from my office, and a refreshed hair with much more layers.

Wednesday: Winter White Smart Casual
I layered a silk shirt in cream under the chunky off-white sweater. Grey/cream snake pattern belt, white jeans and cognac boots. Grey coat and pastel blue scarf (note white, but the most delicate colors I have). Cognac bag again.

Thursday: Gray wrap dress and Purple Rococo Tights
I wore the grey cardigan-as-dress-thing, and paired it with tights with a very subtle pattern and deep purple color. They softened the outfit a bit. I'm not really feeling patterned tight now, either, so these were a compromise.

Friday: Pattern Mix and Tall Boots in Monochrome
I have more time for play today, yay! Full silk skirt in black with white dots, grey cashmere sweater, tall black boots, plaid scarf in black, white and brown, grey coat and the beloved stone Danier satchel that Shannon helped me get last year.

Did I beat the blues? Definitely. I also wore quite a few pieces that I haven't worn in a while, and I loved them again. The calendar is helping me narrow down my choices, and I'm surprised at how much I appreciate they, too. I'm keeping my favorite outfit to myself a little longer. Which one do you like best, and why? Please share your thoughts!

Don't forget to share the results you came up with based on the calendar. I would love to see it, and so would the others:)

Thanks for reading and looking!
