Thanks Jonesy. My mum did indeed covet the bag! She will probably inherit it eventually. I give her first dibs on all my bags when I start to tire of them. She wants me to go second hand shopping for her now.

Thanks Zaeobi and Karie.

Thanks Lyn. I wish denim jackets worked for me. I have tried and tried. But something about the colour, the western style and the stiffness always makes me prefer a knit. I am always on the lookout for the perfect lightweight casual jacket but I never seem to find it. I wish moto jackets (cotton or linen versions) would have a resurgence.

Thanks Sal, pirouette and UmmLila.

Thanks Angie. That is high praise indeed I have to say I’m feeling better about my style than I have in years. It’s been quite the journey since giving up office work in 2018, but I feel like I’m getting the casual/dressy, practical/interesting balance right now.

Thanks Bonnie.

Thanks bj1111. Yes, generally I start with one item that I want to wear (eg jacket, skirt) and build from that according to mood/theme. But sometimes it’s a combination that I want to try - like a colour combination or an idea (like layering a green open knit over a copper top). It’s a lot easier in winter when you can count on it being cold or summer when you can count on it being hot. Transitional seasons are harder because the weather plays a big role in my choice. I am prone to overheating up top and getting panicky if I do. So then the decision is: what layers will work best for the expected temperatures today (assuming I’m going out). So I start with that and build around it.

Thanks Suz. Interesting! So maybe there is a link between humidity and the itch factor for wool/cashmere? That would make sense for me. Sydney is humid for sure. I love wool but cotton is more useful for me. In winter I often wear a cotton jumper with a wool jacket. That combo works well for me.

Thanks slimcat and kellygirl. I appreciate your generosity

I love all those gorgeous skirts and how you have styled them. I almost never wear skirts or dresses anymore, and I find these inspirational and beautiful. I just bought Janet's skirt, (the $20 one) still hanging waiting to be ironed. OK, I'm inspired to work on it and give it a try.

It’s been hot here too, but still cool and crisp at night. I love how you add to your wardrobe in such a cohesive way. The new belt and velvet bag are wonderful additions. #1 is so perfect for warmer weather and I hope you have cool enough weather to keep enjoying your pants for a few more months. Angie is right, you have never looked better.

Thanks Bijou. You are so lovely. Temperatures are climbing again this week, but I’m still hoping to be able to wear my cargo pants for a while yet.

Ms M, thanks. Yes, yes, try the skirt! It’s fun to try something different.

Down the patina rabbit hole on Etsy!
Love all those skirts, especially the velvet one!

Thanks ST. Patina rules!

I particularly love # 1 and # 6! Because, well, it's my colours ... I also like the unexpected combination of lilac, cognac and black in # 11. You look fab in all the outfits anyway.

Fabulous! You have such a wonderful personal style. I would never have thought to combine teal with camo but it works so well - fun pants!

Absolutely stunning looks Brooklyn, and so fun to read the artist's view on each of her creations! You have amazing pieces and put them together so beautifully I just want to take notes . No favorites because I read the series as a pictorial story of your winter and it's beautiful.

Thanks Jaime. I do have much more fun (in terms of experimentation and telling a story) with my winter wardrobe than with my summer wardrobe.

Thanks RobinF. The camo pants are my favourite casual pants. Not that I have many, lol. The oversized fit really works for me.

Thanks Sisi.

Gorgeous and well-thought out as always!

I am late to this party, but omg, Brooklyn, as always, you hit this right out of the park! I love how rich the colors and textures look together, and I really extra-love the juxtaposition of 'roughness' with the boots and the verdigris belt, against the more 'ladylike' elements.
