I'm in love with this shirt.
I'm not much of an impulse buyer, especially not online, where I hem and haw and comparison shop, but I saw this shirt on Pinterest recently, clicked through to Anthropologie, and immediately bought it.
This is more of a plum color than the burgundy I normally wear, but it still fits well in my closet and the embroidery makes it like nothing else I own (you can't see it in my photos, but the shapes are outlined in a thin, copper thread, so it kind of sparkles). I also love the fabrication - a silk/cotton woven front panel, with a knit, viscose back. The stretchy back and structural side panels make it insanely comfortable. I think this impulse buy might become a signature piece for me this season.
So... now that I'm done waxing rhapsodic, the inspiration picture. I thought the embroidery on this top did a good job mimicking the frost on the maple leaves, especially with the copper for a little extra sparkle. I chose an old peridot necklace to represent the tiny bits of green grass peeking through the background, and added jeans, hat, and oxfords for stomping-through-the-leaves comfort.
I'm extraordinarily happy in this outfit.
