Well, it's not real leather, but it could fool most people, and it's washable. I chose this skirt as a bit of wildcard --- a chance to play with new textures and silhouettes. Surprisingly, I find it easier to pair with classic items. I also learned that leather doesn't mix with, well, leather. It looks positively costumey with my tall boots. I don't like it with opaque black stockings, either. It seems to need something more sheer and light.

In the pics, I had to use some flash -- which was aimed directly at my lap. Pardon the weird shiny bits -- the skirt really is quite generously sized and lays quite flat.

1/2/3: Classic parings with kitten heeled pumps. Great for mild weather.
4: Are the booties JFE? I must admit to feeling a bit stumpy. I do have some higher heeled suede booties I could try --- as well as my burgundy Munro Robyns.
5/6: See what I mean? I look like a overripe go-go schoolgirl in the tall boots plus leather skirt!
7: I think the cardi is a bit square and boxy here, but I think I like the patterned sheer hose and the pairing with my grey/black heeled oxfords.

Soon I will pair this skirt with classic t-necks. Any suggestions for styling -- and partcularly for legwear and footwear?

I wore #3 to church. One of my friends said to her daughter, "You see, you have to keep your eye on Beth Ann, you'll think she's wearing some schoolgirl uniform, and then, you'll realize that she's sporting leather! She's all about the details." I don't know how well she liked the outfit, but she did get what I've been trying to accomplish with my SING acronym -- creating outfits that are simple, imaginative, nuanced and graceful. I want to be interesting and engaging without drawing too much attention to the clothes.
