I haven’t been on the forum much these last few months, but I wanted to pop in and say hello and happy new year!

Also wanted to drop a recommendation for a new-to-me brand, Mia Melon, if anyone is in the market for a new winter coat.

Some of you might know that one of my HEWIs is a teal coat, and another is a hooded duffle coat. (I had one of the latter in green but it was both falling apart and slightly too small.) Well, I managed to find both in one package!

This is the Dana coat from Mia Melon. When I saw it, I hit order (well, preorder) almost immediately because it was pretty much exactly the thing I was looking for. Teal wool blend (more poly than I’d prefer but it’s supposedly a technical blend that is waterproof, although I haven’t had the opportunity to test that yet), duffle styling, warm quilted lining, removable hood, zipped pockets.

I was between sizes according to the size chart so I ordered the larger, and I’m glad I did as there’s plenty of room to layer underneath. The top and sleeves are slightly big but it doesn’t bother me. Yes, the sleeves would look better an inch shorter but tbh I prefer them long so I can hide my cold hands in them! And they do actually stay cuffed although the lining shows when I cuff them.

Anyway I am VERY pleased and I’d recommend this company if you’re in the market for a coat! And bonus for the Canadians, it’s a Canadian company. For this particular coat it’s a preorder so you’ll have to wait a few weeks, most likely, for it to ship. I ordered mine on Black Friday and got it about 3 weeks later.

I’m eyeing one of their raincoats for spring!

And some photos on me. It’s been a while since I’ve taken a WIW photo!
