Have you tried knitter’s trick of putting a little hair conditioner in the rinse water for itchy wool? I have done this for Merino wool t shirts that are a bit scratchy and it worked. Not sure if it works the same way on women’s but that shirt looks so great on you it is worth a try, Cheap conditioner works great.

I love everything about this look!! Many years ago I used to love olive green but have been on the fence about it this time around. This combo of olive plaid, pearls and green jacket and shoes makes me ready to re-kindle my love for olive! Well done Lisa!

Lisa, sorry to have offended you by asking you to post the picture you mentioned of the kind of thing you're looking for. If you can tell me how to delete my comment from this post, I’ll be happy to do it.

Perfect casual chic look. I love this color green on you, it's one of your best.

I really love the outfit, and you look faaaaabulous! <3 <3 <3

Good grief, how did I miss this before now! So fab! Love love love!

Killer! A wellused sillhouette I think of yours, but still a different one! The plaid shirt is matching so well the booties and coat, the statement pearl chocker is matching the furr on the coat and your hair-so it is all very refined, festive and casual, artsy and has the edge I always love in your outfits!

WOW, Lisa ! What a fantastic outfit. My new fashion "word" is kicky. And your entire look is kicky because the more that I look at , it the more I get a kick out of : The plaid shirt, the pearls !, the lip color, the coat...it goes on. I may have to copy.

Thank you all for such fun and kind comments! I never expected this ordinary old annoying plaid shirt would have so many friends I've kind of run out of gas for responding and commenting on the forum - it was a challenging weekend and I'm pretty depleted today. But you can bet I am keeping the plaid shirt !

I also don't wear plaid terribly easy, but I'm always attracted to it somehow. It's always a balancing act to figure out how to style it so it's not too masculine or too casual, and you totally nailed it. Olive is so pretty on you too!

More outfit love from me! I also struggle with plaid shirts, yet I seem to be drawn to them - at least I have been for the last 2-3 years. I think it goes to the point that has been mentioned in various posts over the past week or so - how to keep them from feeling too preppy/classic. The pearls do the trick here, and you've convinced me I need to look for a set of chunky pearls. I love the colour of your shirt on you.

Also agree totally with this:
You know what's great about YLF? It often '
forces' or reminds me to pull it together for weekend/everyday running around.
So true!! Well, unless I'm just going to Walmart

I have to try the hair conditioner trick. Lisa, fab as usual.

I really like the way you have styled your plaid shirt here. The first time I every saw plaid and pearls worn together was on blogger Atlantic Pacific circa 2011 I think. Clearly this look has longevity I don't have any plaid but I have embraced black and white gingham but it's not really the same thing. I would love a pair of red and black plaid (tartan) skinny pants!! But like you I struggle with the plaid shirt and the fit. The pearls add a classic touch to the plaid, which I like, but I would be more inclined to pair with more modern, minimalist jewellery (but that's me). I could see a plaid with some of my 3D printed large earrings??

I love this. You look casually elegant, so perfect!
