I have been feeling bored with my clothing recently (as well as various fit issues ) even though I have been getting many complements and when I look at the pictures they look decent to me but !!! I suddenly realized a couple of days ago that the problem is I have fallen into a rut of the same silhouette.
And then Suz you wrote your post today ! Perfect.

Help me get out of this rut please ! The problem is I find leggings and stretchy skinny pants so comfy ... it is like wearing pjs when I have to get dressed at 6:30 every morning .

a different silhouette doesn't have to mean different fabric. You could wear knit tube skirts, maxi dresses or skirts, a-line skirts, joggers; sweater dresses.

I wear the same silhouette probably 99% of the time by choice. I love your outfits! I'm no help I know lol

I love those clothes on you. That's a silhouette I used to wear a lot. I branched out into joggers this year with a half tucked knit top and a leather jacket or draping cardigan.

I seem to recall you saying you lost weight and had fewer items in your wardrobe that worked? Am I incorrect? It may take some time to figure things out again. You might want to experiment a bit with a new silhouette. Some nice suggestions were already made. Maybe start with a different bottom that can work with your tops. Otherwise you will need to get an entirely new outfit and it may only fit in with itself for a while. If that's the case, don't get anything too expensive. See how you feel wearing the new shapes and then add.

Ponte fabric pants are so comfy. I'm thinking of the Halogen cropped flares that were a NAS hit. It's a different silhouette but still so easy to wear once you figure out the shoes.

Liz - that is true maybe I can find some comfy cozy clothes but not the long over lean!

Stays fit - yes you are remembering correctly ! I am having trouble with some items in my closet and do have less to wear. I think I need to go to a real store and try some things, hardly anything around me !
Aquamarine - I love Ponte pants. I wasn't sure about the cropp d flares on me but I a, going to branch out so maybe I will try them!

It's a great silhouette for you. If I had to choose a favorite, I'd pick the first outfit, with the pink scarf. Your hair looks beautiful, too! (Mine used to be that color, sigh.)

I second the suggestion to try ponte pants; I bought my first pair about a year ago and love them. They're almost as comfortable as sweats but more structured. Mine have little zipped pockets, which removes them yet another step from actual sweats

Do you ever wear dresses over pants! It would be a very subtle silhouette change but I could see that working for you

Momo, you look ah-MAZ-ing. Seriously lovely. This silhouette works so well for you.

But I do understand how you might get tired of it. This is what happens with me as well.

And it is going to be a bit of an adjustment, with weight loss. Things that worked well before may only be "okay" now...and you may have to experiment to find the new options.

I like the suggestions already given to stick with fabrications that make you feel comfy. A tube skirt is like PJs...some jersey dresses or sweater dresses are as well. Cropped flared like the Halogen ones might be fun to try...

I can see why you are addicted - you look great in all three and really you do vary the color and vibe of the top quite a bit.

You look fantastic in all of these outfits. To me, the middle one is a different silhouette, because you have a short jacket over the tunic-length piece. I like the suggestions of tweaking the silhouette--wearing a tube skirt instead of skinny pants or leggings, or wearing cropped flares that fit through the leg before the flare. These are different, but won't require a whole new set of tops. Deborah's idea of a dress over your skinny pants or leggings is a natural for you, too.

Formula dressing makes getting dressed for work easier/faster for those of us who are not morning people, and also works brilliantly if you travel a lot.

And I'm sporting this same silhouette quite frequently lately, as I've been living in flux due to our renovation (having to get up earlier and out the door faster, needing a small capsule since 80% of my clothes are all packed up; traveling more than usual as I try to avoid the dust and construction; and dealing with weight gain since we've had no kitchen meaning eating out for every meal, sigh). I'm envious of your tops -- would love to add a few more tunics.

How about branching out with new silhouettes for your weekend/date night outfits as a start? That way you can play around without investing a ton of $.

As for tweaks, you could try skirted leggings?

Wind chime - my hair used to be this color too no idea what it looks like under the dye. Definitely a lot of gray. I have some Ponte pants that are too big. I will look for some new ones, I love the feeling of that fabric, I like yours with the zippers too!

Deborah - that is a good idea. I only do leggings with dresses but I should try pants. Do you need more of a shirtdress to make it work?

Thank you Suz. I am feeling pretty good. More to go but I am taking it really slow this time. It is hard to adjust to changes in ones body up and down. It really messes with my mind I think. I can't see myself clearly sometimes.

Shiny - it is such a convenient outfit formula isn't it ! Forgiving of weight fluctuations and fairly changeable. But I will try some of the ideas. No date nights in my future but maybe some other things .

Can I add that I love your hair cut? Do you have close ups? Front/side/ back? Cuz I'm looking to tweak my usual hair silhouette. I like that your cut looks a bit different in each of these 3 pics. Do you part it differently, style it differently, what? It looks to be the same length in all 3? Inquiring minds are inquiring...

Maybe try a bootcut trouser? They can be just as comfy. Orrr add a skirt overtop of the leggings.
