WIW - Same formula - different colors

I got such positive feedback for my WW skirt outfit in #3 that I thought I would try tweeking it a little. I do not think I like the new versions as much and just cannot figure out why.

Really? While all 3 are really nice, I particularly like the first two for the bright colors and shorter jacket length.

Deb, I think that while they all look nice, the third one appears a bit more balanced to me since 2 of the 3 largest items (jacket, skirts, boot) are the same color rather than 3 different colors. It just seems a bit more cohesive with the black jacket rather than a black top to match the boots. Does that make sense??

These are all amazing!! What a discovery! You wondered at first how you would wear that skirt. Well, now you know!

I think 1 and 2 would work equally well or even better with a black bootie or shoe vs. the tall boot. That way the proportions of dark on top and bottom would be a bit closer. But I do think it works with tall boots, too, as long as you show that bit of skin at the knee.

Suz, that is a great idea. I bought some micro fishnets the other day and wondered if I would even wear them. I will give it a whirl with my black booties.

Well they ALL look stellar, but perhaps you are like me and latch on to a favorite way to wear something? You could just change the blouse colors and keep wearing the black jacket with that skirt. I like Suz's idea too!

I think what you're seeing is the difference is having the pop of color tucked into the first layer, rather than top layer. I like #3 best, too, I think #1 and #2 are beautiful but would look even better with a multicolored scarf top, or a white top -- to create a line with the skirt and lighter booties to bookend your hair.
