I got an email this morning for Frye's. If you have large feet or small, they have some great boots at great prices. I'm a 7 and there is nada. Worth taking a look!

Oh, wow - I was about to post about looking for cognac boots for a petite leg (narrow calf and short height)... Does anyone have these Frye Cindy slouch boots?

Oh man! My family will kill me if I buy another pair of boots, but Rory's for $164? Can I really resist that?

edit: What do y'all think about them in the sand color? Part of me likes the idea of an almost nude slouch boot and the other part thinks it would look like some sort of lower leg disease.

The Rory's are beautifully scrunchy as you've seen on Angie in her blog files. I have the very light color that is shown on 6pm and they seem to darken with age on this particular leather finish.
The Cyndy's look like the same slouchy leather on the shaft. Beware of the pointy toe on the Cyndy's. I had them at home to try on about a year ago and sent them back because I felt they wear not shaped very nicely in real life. They may fit you better. If you can maybe it would be a good idea to order the Cyndy's and the Rory's while the sale is on, then return one pair.

Thanks San. I have the Rorys in the dark brown and love them, although they are a misery to get on my feet! I think you are right about the Cindys, a little too Western for me with that toe. Great advice.

They are tall but they work for me. The only problem I have is that they are really hard to get on my feet - I have high arches and the back of the heel is stiff as can be. Once they are on, they are very comfortable.

I resisted. This post came up right after I walked in the door from buying a pair of black slouch boots from dsw. If I had ordered a pair, it would have been the black Rory's. The Fryes are surely a better quality boot, but also twice the price and not guaranteed to make my feet sing like the ones I just picked up.

If they had the chestnut color of Angie's in stock, I wouldn't have been able to resist.

I may live to regret it, but I'm holding strong for now. Maybe I should drop a hint to Santa.

I'm resisting as well. The Rory's are very tempting but I fear the nude color is too light and I don't wear enough brown to justify a second pair of brown boots. I probably would have ordered the black if I didn't have a pair of black lace ups on the way.

Will we get to see your new black boots in action?

I have the Rory's in brown in my shopping bag. I have the Harness version but would really like to have a less 'western' version. They look so great in Angie's photos and it is such an amazing deal. Should I resist?

Does anyone have these? If so, how do they run? I like that they are grey leather with a narrow calf of 14.25" but wonder if they are too western rather than riding boot.

*gulp* I'm actually going to try the Rory boots in sand. I actually looked back at Tara (tarzy's) post a few months ago when she tried on the Rorys in black, and liked the ultra-scrunched look. Not sure whether I will like them on me or not, but I'm willing to experiment and try them out since 6pm has a relatively flexible return policy.

I have a plastic knock off pair of these from Target. I love the look of the shoe, but the cheap ones are so painful.

If I order those, I might throw the Rory's in to try as well. I was all on board for an almost nude, slouchy boot for warmer weather with dresses until I tried on a cheaper pair and got weirded out by the look of fleshy colored, slouchy animal skin on my legs. I'm not sure if that was just the particular pair I tried on, or if I'm going to have a Silence of the Lambs moment with all nude boots.

I also tried them with jeans, but I didn't like the way they look at all. These are definitely only for skirts and dresses.

AG the Rory's look beautiful on you, perfect color to bookend your hair. I also love the Rory's in Sand,I think they will darken with age. I'm quite sure mine have. I've been looking for the old pictures to compare to no avail.
I love the boots that Joy chose.

I'm loving all the boot action on this thread! I browsed, but ultimately resisted temptation. The Rory boots in black are sort of calling my name, but I really need some tall black boots, not mid-calf scrunchy ones. The OTK Janes are on sale, but only in the tan (I want black) so I can resist those pretty easily.
