Showing you how I have gradually increased my earth tones.
I bought this fine merino top ( called “toffee” colour) in June to pair with the bronze lace-ups from April. It happened to go really well with the 2018 cardigan as well.
Pic 1: Random toffee merino June 2022 6 wears. Sabatini leather patch ponte pants March 2022 25 wears. Hispanitas bronze lace-ups April 2022 11 wears.
Pic 2: Same, with addition of 2018 Stitch Ministry cardigan 162 wears!

I agree that this is a great color on you. You look ready for fall. I like the second view best. The color looks like rust or russet on my monitor.

Ooh I like that toffee colour on you! I can't keep up with all the different names for shades though - is it like a brownish brick red? Sort of similar to the colour of cinnamon?

That's a great outfit--I really like the way the top and cardigan work with the shoes. Nice proportions, too.

This top is gorgeous on you! I love the combo with the cardi -- that's just the sort of tonal look I'm really interested in right now. And the bronze lace-ups -- as a fellow shoe gal, I'm swooning!

I think these particular earth tones would look really nice with red tartan eyeglass frames, just saying.

Thanks everyone I was very pleased to find that top. Zaeobi I have called it rust but I suppose cinnamon is just as good. The manufacturer did label it “toffee” which sounds yummier!
SarahD8 I can see it might look good with the tartan frames. Am still thinking about them and whether I will want to wear them with non-red clothing… not sure yet

I didn’t notice the shoes in the 1st photo. Then you put on the cardigan and Wow! Really brings them out and makes a great combo.

Was just checking whether it's a reddish brown or orangey brown because colours can vary on different monitors - no point getting into a colour naming discussion if we're both referring to different colours altogether

I got compliments from patients on the outfit: at least one for the whole outfit but two for the shoes I think Zaeobi that the colour is slightly more orangey-brown than reddish-brown but hard to be sure. It is definitely a warm colour which I think fits my either Clear Spring or Warm Spring palette-different websites show slightly different palettes but I am not too bothered exactly which I am. I just don’t think I am Autumn, which I would have intuitively thought these colours were.
Thanks Kathie for the olive idea-it might be my puffer you are spying which I think would look nice with the outfit if I needed a warmer outer layer. I drive to work so don’t usually need it.

Either way, it's a great colour on you! But whilst the colour itself is important, the other colours surrounding it will also affect how it's perceived. So the cardigan, for example, but even also your hair & skin, will help to 'lighten' the overall look into Spring territory (compared to if the top was worn on, say, someone with my colouring instead).

Don't mind me, I just find colour theory fascinating
