2 things you rarely see me wear? Prints that are not geometric, and the color pink. 1 thing you often see in my hand? A glass of wine!
I liked this outfit yesterday which I wore to a meeting at a big bank in NJ. Drove 175 miles each way, and in retrospect, it was probably not the most comfortable thing for driving. However, the sweater was perfect for office AC on a 95 degree day.
- Print pencil skirt - Talbots, bought with Mom and sister on recent Amelia Island trip. I love the gray, cream, black, deep pink color combo, and it puts me in mind of cherry blossoms. Reads floral to me. I like that I bought it shopping with Lisa and Mom.
- V Neck - Banana Republic - excellent light weight silk blend, very soft. Washes nicely. Bought in cream and pink.
- Suede wedges - Via Spiga
- Wine (matching, natch) - nice rose' from Washington State. Thank you, Washington, for great wine!
On a different but related subject, I am going to have a hip replacement in November. I have not been able to run for 12 weeks due to pain. My entire body shape is already changing due to this extreme change in my exercise pattern, and the inevitable shift is
south....my pencil skirts feel bad. My weight is stable, but the love handles are growing! I can cycle without pain, and have been out for numerous 20-30 mile rides on the weekends, but cycling is not convenient like running. Here I am, 8 pm., at my desk. Normally I would head up and take a 40 minute run....but now it is too late to hop on the bike safely as it gets dark, and the gym closes soon.
Sigh...just wanted to share to a sympathetic/empathetic crew. I know that the runners and ex-runners in the crowd are nodding their heads.
Thanks for listening
