Angie's posts on flared jeans got me thinking about a beloved pair that I haven't worn for a few years. Today I followed her styling suggestions:
- the jeans: Pine IV, from only about 5 or 6 years ago. Check out the seam detail in back!
- fluid fit sweater (purple and gray striped cashmere, Philosophy Dane Lewis, from the Rack)
- Silver ring necklace and silver dangled-hoop earrings (both Marjorie Baer, I think)
I tried the ensemble with two combinations of coat, footwear, bag. . ..
1) gray almond-toe Mary Janes (Pikolinos) and a gray belt, with my taupe trench coat (CK Calvin Klein), and brownish taupe hobo bag (Aunts & Uncles).
2) black almond-toe low-heeled oxfords (Josef Siebel), black belt, black travel coat (Cole Haan), black satchel (Elliott Luca).
I also tried the jeans with my black booties (Munro Grace), not pictured. The effect is pretty much the same as with the oxfords.
This morning it was pouring rain, with deep puddles, so I passed on the flares and wore the top half of the outfit with my skinnies tucked into short boots.
Now the rain has stopped, and I'm going to wear the flares out this afternoon!
