Just wanted to say that anyone thwarted by their hunt for a wrap dress (and who doesn't mind looking like a green cheetah) might want to check out Ann Taylor's Rustic Shadows faux-wrap:

[I believe they have a version in black that's the same fabric and style, but since I didn't see that in person you'd have to ask the CS rep.]

This isn't an ideal style for my short-waisted Rectangle self, but I like the look (esp now with the 70s resurgence). I swear I've been trying on variations of them for a few years now and walking away....but kept this one as it's by far been the best of the sad lot, ha.

PROS:

* Eligible for 40% off coupon if you have one.

* The material is a decent weight with a nice soft hand to it. I'm wearing a full slip underneath (pics 1-2), but it didn't look terribly clingy (on my baby-got-no-back self, anyway!) without the slip.

* The wide sash (pic 3) starts high up at an empire line, then tapers down (attempted to capture in pic 4).

This meant my short-waisted self wasn't being cut in half by a skinny tie belt front or back...but if you have a "regular" waist it would probably work fine for you.

CONS:

*I would definitely recommend sizing down.

* Also: the V is DEEP -- it's sitting nicely for me in this shot but I am in a full slip just in case.

NEUTRAL for me:

* Regular length hit 5'4 me at the very top of the kneecap, so ~ 1.5 inches "above" what most think of as knee-length. Comes in Petite and Tall.

* Bracelet sleeves, which I personally like.
