Recent WIW's - YouLookFab Forum

Just a few recent WIW's to work. Included here are some of my recent purchases for spring, but as the weather will not cooperate and warm up, some of this is just my closet re-mixed.
#1 - recent purchase, I absolutely adore polka dots and I found this at J Crew Factory. I wore it with my navy slim fit pants.
#2 - recent purchase, I got these at the Guess outlet, the top one is perfect for a teacher as it says "take a guess" and "guess again"
#3 - a go-to work outfit for me, brown sweater dress, black knit pants, booties
#4 - One of Angie's recommendations, a camo and lace scarf from Nordie's
#5 - Love the camo and lace scarf so I wore it again with a cream skirt, light brown top, AE denim jacket, and brown boots. After reading Angie's post with her cream go-go boots, I think those would look really nice with this outfit and I just might have to add a pair to my shopping list.

Your suggestions for improvement are always welcome! It does seem like all I ever post are work outfits, so I will have to take some pics and post some weekend outfits - definitely less boring and a lot funkier!

Those are great. You look good in earth tones and clean cool colours too. My faves are 1 and 5. I love the funky little jacket with the sophisticated skirt.Thanks for posting, your outfits are always worth a look.

Another fan of #1, the little peek of print mix at the neck is a great detail. The rest of the outfits also look good, and I quite like #5's mix of light and dark. That one feels especially spring mixy!

#1 is perfection --- should be repeated! And I love the texture in #3. All of these are consistently fab. I'm curious: Which makes you the happpiest?

Beth Ann, that would be #1. I have an obsession with polka dots - they are so happy and fun - so any outfit involving them and the color red makes me happy
I also love the camo and lace scarf (though not necessarily the outfits I've paired it with) because it's a little bit girly, and a little bit rock 'n roll. I'm having fun experimenting with this article of clothing. As soon as it gets warm enough to bare my ankles, I'm going to try it with BF jeans.

The stripes in 1 are a nice finishing touch. I like the muted colors and textures and love your new scarf. You decided the black skirt in 4 isn't too tight : )

Karie, I have said it before and I will say it again now. You are channelling Sveta, and it is a brilliant direction for you! You have her height and her restrained drama, and more and more this shows in your WIWs.

Love, love, love, LOVE #1. You were made to wear trousers that shape. And with the red booties and the dots and stripes -- it is simple, elegant, refined, but makes a huge modern impact.

The other looks are beautifully texturally rich. And hey - nude hose!!

These all look excellent, very polished. I especially like 1. It's also nice to see that camo scarf in action. I was curious about it. I like especially picking up on the white lace with another detail in your outfit, like the skirt.

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments! Deborah, the red booties were a gift from DH a few years back. I don't know where he got them. And yes, pil, I decided the black skirt isn't too tight, even though I prefer my pencil/straight skirts a little on the loose side. Nicole, Aida, and Scarlet, I love the camo scarf - Day Vies suggested pairing it with brown instead of black and #5 was the result of her suggestion. And yep, Suz, nude hose while I patiently wait for warmer weather
