My reason for posting this outfit which I wore earlier this week on a trip to NYC and St. Louis is the shoes. As I've mentioned, due to upcoming back surgery to hopefully resolve severe nerve pain down my right leg, I have been forced to get rid of almost all heels. I was so happy to find a wedge/platform sandal that gives me height, and is so incredibly comfortable.
I bought this Rockport Briah sandal in white, originally. I've never tried Rockports before and was blown away by the comfort. As I am wont to do, I immediately replicated in black! I wore these sandals all day for 3 straight days - ran through airports, stood on my feet at a trade show and walked blocks in both cities. Yes, my leg and back were killing me, but my feet were so happy!!
They really run big. I am a true 8.5W and these are an 8W. I think I could have worn an 8.5M comfortably. They look a bit clunky in these pictures, but the comfort wins over everything.
I didn't love things I had in my suitcase on this trip, and did not feel fab most of the days (being in pain had a lot to do with it), but I am liking this Loft knit jacket. Travels well, and kept me warm in the freezing AC.
I'll be sporting a lovely back brace for the month of Sept., so won't be posting much, but YLF will keep me company in my recovery and I look forward to seeing what everyone wears as we end the northern hemisphere summer, and move into fall.
