I had no idea Rachel Comey patterns were available! Thanks for that link.
Anna, you're hoeing a tough row with everything going on. But your sense of style is pretty unstoppable, and I really hope you find some inspiring clothes.
Yes, adjusting style glasses to focus on shoes, sunnies, hats, and so on, while you search out designers that make clothes that work for you makes sense. It is so stupid that designers don't include a wider range of sizes.
Hang in there, Anna. Your avant-garde sensibilities can bring originality to the most basic clothes. I hope you will be your own designer, and fool around with things that fit until they project the inner you.
A note to Beth Ann: I can recommend the Halogen Cascade jacket--my single NAS purchase, and a steal at $70--as a quiet, graceful and authoritative piece. Herringbone weave in ivory/black or navy/black. Both regular & petites go up to 16.
Anna, I never met you in person, but just want to echo Angie's sentiments that fashion is from the inside out. You have always seemed very forward thinking about fashion, that I've seen here. And it's a way of being.
I have had my own life changes...no longer in Seattle...and so haven't been on the forum much this summer and I don't know all the family challenges refereed to in this thread that you have gone through. But just wanted to add my vote for confidence in you....wishing you all the best!
