Rare WIW for a cool fall day with Olive utility pants

Thought I'd grab a quick photo this morning and share a rare wiw. These are the deep olive WHBM utility pants with an older dark denim shirt and UGG slip ons in suede. I added my calf skin belt and new thrift store necklace find. Hair loosely up for breakfast, not cut short (just in case anyone wondered).

Loving the utility pants as an alternative to jeans! All comments, suggestions, etc. welcome as usual.

Good to see you! I also got these pants and love them. I have been wearing them a ton and find them very comfy for our hot weather. Nice accessories.

I think a flattering denim shirt is a HEWI for me. It must be cooler if you can pull that out of the closet today. Tell me more about the slip on shoes.

delurked - waving Hi! This denim shirt is a few years old from Banana Republic. It is 100% cotton and a nice darker denim shade. It is just a bit oversized for me in the shoulders but it still works. I've tried so many versions of denim shirts - I have a light faded chambray that I like too but it is oversized maybe too much even though I sized down when I got it. I have a bad habit of buying things slightly too big because I don't like feeling restriction, esp. in the shoulder area. I should try a tencel blend I suppose but I can't bear to add another denim shirt to my budget after trying so many over the years.

The UGG slip ons have been great. They are water resistant suede and very comfortable to me. They have a little sheepskin in the heel area and a decent cushion. Here is the Find - not sure if they will make the exact model again though.

I love this, Tex! And so nice to see a picture of you!!! You've got such a warm and lovely face. This is a great fall look that I could almost exactly duplicate, and I will have to do so tomorrow. I'm really struggling with my jeans right now - none of them seem to be working right - but I do have camo utility skinnies that I am not taking enough advantage of. And, I even have a leopard belt. I too have an issue of buying things with too-big shoulders. The seam will be in the right spot, but the arms and torso are still too big.

Thank you Laurie, Firecracker, Sara and smittie - accessories can make such a fun difference when you wear a lot of simple solid neutrals. The necklace is more colorful in person with a combo of green, camel, golden tones, deep bronze and a bit of shine.

Great outfit. The colors and accessories work so well. I am envious of the utility pants - they look great on you, but were calfsucking on me.

The gold tone in the shoes Is perfect with your hair. I recently discovered book ending with some cognac boots (I'm also strawberry blonde) and now need to add more pairs in that color.

karen13 - I'm sure you'll find a pair of the utility style that works on you - seems like there are more options out there than in years past. And yes, I agree on the shoe color bookending - cognac and similar handbags work well too. I also enjoy these UGG boots in colder weather for that same reason.

Amazing, you piled on utility over utility (Vans-like slip ons, cargoes, denim shirt), and still managed to make it utility pretty. I’m always in awe of people who can make casual look so polished.
