New job is FANTASTIC! I'm so glad I made the move. Yes, it's been stressful making a change this big but completely worth it. It's a place full of equally hard working individuals and mutual respect. Plus the new boss is just an incredible person and I can see I will learn a lot in this place.

Home is another story - my MIL's health is beginning to deteriorate and we are awaiting test results as there is reason to believe her lung cancer has now spread to her liver and abdomen. This is a natural progression of course as she has opted no treatment, but it doesn't make it any easier. Once we have all the test results back, we will be meeting with Home Care and Palliative Care and start to get "our ducks in a row". We have taken her off the Assisted Living apartment waiting list as she is now past being able to care for herself. We have opted to keep her at home with us until the point where she will need to enter a nursing home/palliative care ward. At least pain management is now underway so she's more comfortable. Tough days ahead.

And a cute happy moment - my 18 year old son bought his first car yesterday. He's working full time at a car dealership while figuring out what he wants to do in terms of schooling. I have never seen a bigger smile than on his face last night when they handed him his keys

And such is life right? A little good, a little bad.
