Thank you all for your congrats and wishes for strength. Your support means more than you know

I'm so glad the new job is going well and so sorry to hear about
MIL. She's very lucky to have a compassionate DIL as you.

Big hugs, Shannon. It's thrilling to hear that the new job is working out well. You are very special to have your MIL with you, and congratulations to your delightful son on his car.

Shannon I am sorry about your MIL but it sounds like other parts of your life are going wonderfully. As always, you are a role model for coping and a positive attitude and I really admire (and try to emulate) that.

I'm late to this thread, but I echo the chorus of those who are so darned happy you are still with us, so happy for your happy things and sad for your sad things. Sending all my love and support in this challenging time of life! XXX OOO

Also late, but thank you for the update. It is sad to hear about your MIL, though. I suppose it is part of the great circle of life, but it is still hard. I admire you and your DH for making it as comfortable as possible for her and being strong enough to get those ducks in a row - lesser people might break down and not be able to handle it. *hugs* I am also super happy for you and your son; sounds like the long term future is very bright for both of you!

You know this, I'm sure but -- it never hurts to say it -- treasure every moment of good with your MIL. I've recently been through something similar and know how really difficult on many levels that is.

So happy the job is great, and that you see good stuff as well as bad, happening overall!!

So glad for the things that are going well, and very sorry for your MIL's health problems.
I think it is admirable that you can hold both the good and the bad in the same hands, because sometimes we get pressured about how can we celebrate life's happy milestones (your new job, DS's new job and car) when others are suffering, but you must, and must treasure DS's life-moments with him.

Mid-life is an interesting passage, isn't it? Some good, some bad sounds just about right. So glad the new job is working out well, and I'm so sorry about your MIL.
