I'm heading to Michigan tomorrow for a lovely week of relaxation. I've ordered 2 denim jackets, hoping I'd find one keeper. I like both, but they're very different. I'd love some quick feedback! None of these are really styled -- and excuse my morning hair!

1/2 Macy's peplum jacket. Lovely fabric, great stretch. This will button, but jackets usually swing back a bit on me, due to "the girls" How do you feel about the silhouette? I could size up (and the plus size version is cheaper), but the shoulder fits perfectly, and the sleeves are already pretty generous.

3/4 Loft. I love the lightweight denim. This jacket can stay on during warm weather, and is quiet comfy. The neckline is cool, but perhaps not as flattering on me. Whadya think?

5. Bonus pick of my new Alfani tunic. I love this piece for my work days. It's navy, white and purple. I'm looking for a more refined sleeveless blouse to use for my column of white.

That tunic is gorgeous on you! Great purchase.

You know, I like both jackets but I think I have a slight preference for the Loft one, at least with these stylings. I am also thinking that in cooler weather (or when moving into arctic AC) you could easily add a scarf to that neckline without feeling overly "bunchy" or fussy. I know you generally run warm, but that would extend the jacket's season a bit.

I like them both and they look like the right size. If you are only keeping one, I actually prefer the Loft jacket on you, the proportions seem perfect. LOVE that tunic!

Both jackets look great, but I think I slightly prefer the loft one. It looks a bit more versatile and I like the silhouette just a little better on you. The tunic is lovely!

Love how you're sneaking in this great tunic outfit on us when we're supposed to be helping with jackets....

First thought was "peplum" as it seems to be in tune with your style and it's also a little unexpected in denim. But then I also like the sportier one on you. So...no real help here. I'd decide based on style descriptors.

I like them both too but I think I may be a little more inclined to go with the peplum because it's fresh and fun. Beautiful tunic on you!

I think the Loft one is more classic and has more longevity.

If you're okay with more of a trendy piece, I'd go with the peplum. It's fun and it's "now".

I prefer the Loft but cannot deny the utility of a peplum jean jacket.

What I really like is the Alfani!!

Suz: You are right about me running warm! The Loft is deliciously light and loose, but slightly cropped.

Colette and Chris: You share the love for the Loft version!

Angie: I have 3 pairs of white jeans --- which is perfect, but am still looking for a perfect white sleeveless layering top! I heartily recommend the Alfani tunic. I think it looks better IRL -- the fabrication is pretty nice, and I like the combination of structure and flow -- so many tunics don't have real shoulder seams, and this one does.

Vix: You are right that peplums are right up my style alley, although, now that I'm trending more apple than pear, they can be harder to wear. This one actually hits me at my real waist, and is a pretty modern piece, too. (And you'd love the Alfani tunic, for reals).

Anne and Auquarmarine: I may have to do some "shoe math" to keep both. Actually, my birthday is Thursday -- maybe some birthday money is coming?

Cardiff: Good instincts! I run on the "girly side" so the peplum suits my take on denim!

Tex and Wren: Yes, I liked the idea of a peplum in denim. The material is substantial, but nicely stretchy, which is even better!

Thistle: Exactly. Now if I can rationally keep both?

Rachy: Yes, the Alfani section at Macy's has some nice treasures!

Love that tunic! I like both jackets but have a preference for the peplum. Then again, I am a sucker for peplums so take it with a grain of salt.

Have fun in my state! Supposed to be a little cool this week, upper 70's, compared to 90's that we had for the end of May.

Thanks, Robin! Heading from my home in Indy to the Petoskey area --- and am SO happy in cooler temps. We love to bike and hike and kayak --- so no need for super warm water (unless I tip over, which I don't intend to do!)

I am going to be a huge enabler and say keep both. I have four denim jackets (two blue, one red, one white) and I wear them all.
I love the peplum jacket because it’s so stinkin’ cute and I love the collarless jacket because you can easily wear it with a scarf.

The peplum fits you really well and is an easy keep.At first I thought I'd recommend keeping both if possible but the design fit of the second is just not as flattering, especially the placement of the pockets.

I like the idea of the Loft one but you could find it in a better version.

The tunic is great. Really like the peplum.

Do we really have to pick one? The peplum is more interesting and would get my vote IF you already have a classic denim jacket. The second looks like an updated almost-classic, and the shorter length will work with different outfits than the first. I see these as very different jackets!

I’m no help - I like both and just bought two white denim jackets .

With regards to yourhunt for a sleeveless white blouse, I just bought this one and like it a lot. I did decide I wanted to wear a camisole under it as it’s on the border of how sheer I like white tops. YMMV.

I had to wait until I could look on my computer, not phone, but I'm no help. I really love both, both conceptually and on you specifically. I agree that the the LOFT is a classic and probably has more longevity, but the peplum is so fun. And I clicked on you tunic find and want them in all color ways. But the one you got is my fave!!

Pil: I've attached the find below -- this top is a recent purchase from Loft. I have the kimono, too. The fabrics coordinate, although I will not likely wear them together. I also how the navy top, which I do wear with the kimono.

They both look great and they ARE slightly different- I can imagine them interacting very differently with dresses. If one of them comes in a different color, I say order it!
And your hair looks fantastic, I only wish my “morning hair” was like that...

I like both jackets, but if I had to choose, I'd choose the peplum one. You can buy a classic jean jacket anytime...the peplum one is more of a find, IMO. And I would keep the size you show here. I think that if you size up, the shape will be lost when you wear it open--and I assume it will be worn open most of the time (?).
