Wow, that Etro is amazing—so many lush brocades and things I don’t have names for. Super! Throwing the houndstooth, stripes, etc in there seemed a little odd to me, but man, love the ornate looks!
Lots of the outfits were solid neutral (black) + The Statement. I know that trick, did it last week (in a much simpler way, obvi) with this skirt, as well as a pattern mix that followed the rules better (except it was a workout shirt). 9-13 here
https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-bag-shoes The Dries Van Noten was mostly too much for me, though I did like #52 in it.
Today it’s even warmer out. Not too warm for a simple ls tee, but I’m not feeling it. Was wondering if it’d try people’s patience for me to switch out the top after all this, but the one I want to get from the cellar matches that little fleck of gold in the skirt much better, so you’ve given me “permission”. ETA: That shirt is way too wrinkled to wear today, so now something else has caught my fancy. Playing around with how to get the best pix again, the first three are the same shot. #1 is edited to try to show the stripes; #2 is unedited. #3 is unedited but cropped. And then a lighter hand on the editing and a close-up of the stripes—black and burgundy, with a tiny silver glitter line between them.
But about the dress: my son says it’s fine. I think I want some leggings. That might just be the standard springtime reaction to seeing our bodies again after being bundled up all winter, but then again, I usually have a high tolerance for showing leg. If I think a hem is high, it probably really is.
I’m not so sure about braids/pigtails either. If I wear a youthful Vans dress and a girlish hairstyle, I’m afraid I look like Delta Dawn, stuck in days gone by. Braids are probably best for the landesstil/traditional German looks Rachylou likes for me.
I’m off to dig through leggings now. Might also try a pattern mix with this jacket.
