I recently picked up these Frye shooties (see find), I like the style and color, but I'm not sure which size to keep.

I picked up a 6.5 and a 7. Without socks, the 6.5's are snug in the toe box -- not uncomfortably so -- but my toes barely move. The 7's are not *AS* snug in the toe, but there is a slight bit of heel slippage that I worry will get worse with wear.

I have a 7.5 Frye Campus boot that are about 10 years old and have stretched to the point that I now wear thick hiking socks to keep the heel from slipping.

Will the shooties stretch like the boots did? Have my feet shrunk in the cold winter weather? Should I be wearing a sock with this shoe style? Thanks for any tips!
