I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm done with winter. Usually, it's started to warm up a little more here at this time of year, but we're still sitting with snow and ice even though the sun is warm and the light is different. But - in the spirit of moving forward, I'm assembling my first early spring capsule and pulling out the olive, navy, pale blue, and white stuff. Winter wools feel so heavy and dreary now - and regardless of the snow, the light at this time of year demands some lighter looking clothes. On a sort-of-unrelated note , I'm not planning on buying anything for spring this year and hoping I can make it into summer at which point I"m fine for clothes. A few things: I am talking myself out of anything I see so easily lately , nothing is really grabbing me (and a lot of it is just retreads of last year's trends) , and the thought of trying on clothes is just not appealing to me. I'm not desperate for clothes ( I don't have much left after several seasons of editing but it's ok ) , and for the first time in my life, it's easier NOT to buy, than to just buy something . I suppose I'm getting to be a much better shopper , and maybe that has to do with having less disposable income now, and also finding that as feet and body changes happen so rapidly, I am less inclined to buy a lot because who knows what will fit or feel good a year from now? Anyways, I had a very hands-on/active work day doing some remerchandising in a store, so had to be dressed for bending and lifting and stretching . The top and jeans are older pieces ( and did fit better 5-7 lbs ago, but whatever) , and the coat was a recent random find at BR the day before a trip when I wanted a packable lightweight coat. I cut the belt loops off and threw out the belt. (yes , I know it looks super cute all done up and belted, but unless you are a size 0 , not so much ) The banded bell sleeves made it unique among lightweight quilted coats, and I'm really glad I bought it . Scarf is new, and admittedly still not getting worn much. I struggle to make it work, but am forcing myself to wear the damn thing .
Sneakers are velvet, picked up on sale for that same trip , and were super, super comfy right out of the box. No jewellery other than earrings - scarf is too delicate . Carried an olive convertible satchel Coach bag.
olive jeans - Gap skinnies
faux layered top - Soft by Joie
navy velvet sneakers - Circus by Sam Edelman
scarf - McQueen
olive coat - BR (sold out, no find available)
Thoughts, jokes , the usual, always welcome !
