This is a great outfit! Olive and stripes -- love it. I've been making a concerted effort the past couple years to add some lighter/brighter knitwear for this transitional season, when it ought to be spring but there's still 2ft of snow on the ground. I think it's a necessary strategy in winter-dominant climates.

I want to see the McQueen scarf with your darker winter clothes -- I bet there are ways to incorporate this into a moody tonal black+blue look and maybe you can extend its wear into deep winter that way... It's such a good colour on you, I feel like you could put it on with anything and it would be steal the show.

What is going on with the weather??? Where I live, we had the hottest day of the year on Monday, it is no longer summer, just hotter than summer. Really you should not have temps above 100F in Autumn. I sympathise with you having to deal with snow.

This outfit is incredible on you. That scarf... You need to wear it with everything as it is 100% LisaP and beautiful. I also love the rest of the outfit, you look amazing.

Fresh! I like the sounds of olive, navy, pale blue and white for an early spring capsule. I’m trying to eek out 2 more weeks from my deep winter capsule. I hope to change things over on the Easter long weekend when I’ll have finished the course I’ve been doing since January. It feels like a reward. I’ll change over living room/dining room decor too. I do this twice a year and just basically means changing throw pillows and tablecloth. It feels like a lift with the changing light.

We’re on March break and I have the itch to shop but I’m trying the “make do” (for my daughter and myself) approach which is basically just shopping our closets. I’ve been doing some purging and prepping items in anticipation of a change to a cold spring capsule. I’m very analytical and enjoy numbers so I’ve finally decided to track my wears. I’m most of the way through cataloguing my wardrobe on the ClosetSpace app. It’s a good way to be reminded of what’s in my closet as I plan for a changeover and a good way to spend time on my closet without spending - scratch the itch so to speak. I’m also identifying orphans and trying to mentally create ensembles that will use them.

This is a perfect example of trans-seasonal dressing! You look gorgeous, and I'm glad to see you working that scarf even if it's not as easy to style as your old one. I like the coat better without the belt, so well done!

Great look! Although maybe I say that because I could easily duplicate this outfit - except for the designer scarf. Sorry the color isn't working out as well as you had hoped. It looks lovely with this outfit.

We've hit spring here which means wind - supposed to be gusts up to 50 mph this afternoon. That will be fun while I watch my son's first middle school soccer game.

I like the blue, white and olive together. They’re good colors for you. I know you keep mentioning weight, etc., but you look great.

LaP - I totally agree about having some mid-weight winter-ish pieces in lighter colours for this in-between season. This top is actually a heavy cotton/wool blend and is quite cozy yet doesn't look like yet another winter sweater. The scarf is a funny creature; it's a very sheer, delicate silk chiffon and that, along with the colour, make it look spring-summer-ish. I got away with wearing my black one all year long because it was black (if you know what I mean) and always looked seasonally appropriate . I am planning on wearing the heck out of this blue one for the next month or so, and then retiring it until next spring. If budget ever allows, I'd like to get another black one. Today is going to be a navy day, and I"ll be wearing it again .

I am kind of on the opposite end of the spectrum from you. We haven’t had more than 5” of snow at once all winter, definitely not enough to give us any snow days or even late starts, and I’m sort of mourning winter as I look at a warm, sunny forecast. Hoping transitional weather, at least, sticks around for a while, and we don’t just barrel headlong into summer.

That being said, this is a fab spring outfit, and I think it’s all down to the scarf sitting atop those minimalist essentials. You may feel like you’re forcing wears right now, but the color is great on you, and that thing is going to stay in your wardrobe for years and years, so just enjoy it and pull it out when the mood strikes.

Your rocking it. Like the whole vibe. We have had a weird winter in Arizona this year also. Today it is windy, gray skies and looks like rain and only 65 degrees.

I really like that the coat has a different shape stitched in rather than straight lines. The colours look fab and I love the McQueen scarf. I like the layering of the shirt under the stripe jumper.

The scarf is really a great colour on you.... I think it would be fab with camel and mid blue denim haha..... (on me so feel free to post it over) I think you could wear it with black or dark colours as long as there was some light somewhere else ie white sneakers or bag.... or even black pants with a white stripe down the side..

I love it all! I put together a navy T with an olive jacket today (for someone else) and thought of you! You know, I have a scarf that was expensive that has a very open weave to it--so many snags! I'm just chalking it up to loving it and saying who cares if anyone notices the snags. I love how the skulls add an element of surprise to the outfit!!

roxanna - my rolling rack is a cheap one from IKEA - and it doesn't add anything to the aesthetics of the room, but it sure is functional . Ideally, it should have a folding screen in front of it, which is something I'm looking for.
