Well, after considering this garment since I first saw it in April, I have bought it. I loved it when I first saw it-olive, animal print and reversible. However at the time
1. It is polyester not down
2. I had a top once of this brand Betty Basics where I found the quality suspect
3. I have never ever bought a puffer in my life before all these years
4. It was $114.90 and was that too much for something polyester that I’m not used to wearing?
5. I wasn’t sure if my usual size 14 NZ (size 10 US) was a bit tight zipping up over my tummy when I tried it back then.
So I kept seeing it all winter in 2 different shops in 2 different malls. When it got to 35% off there were only 2 sizes left 10 and 16,and I tried on the 16. It zipped up really well. But there were only pockets on the plain side. Wasn’t sure about that as want it to keep me warm on walks. And maybe the sleeves were a titch too long.
On Wednesday I was in that local mall again. The size 16 was the only one left. 50 % off. Bought a sandwich for lunch and thought hard. Realised that I can still put my phone and keys in the pockets that are on the inside. And since it’s reversible I could turn up the sleeves if I want. Also the company is not listed in the Ethical Fashion guide so at least it’s not knowingly unethical purchasing! Plus NZ is not really cold enough to need down.
So... I tried it on again, and here it is, my $57.45 first puffer.
I still love it and hope to be Team Wear soon, and at this stage hope I will keep it for many years, if it becomes dated or not
