Printed pants quality fail

Zara had some delightful printed pants in the spring, and I bought 2 different pairs (one pair pictured below “in situ”). But after only 1 day of walking my normal commute (5 miles), the print all rubbed off the inside of the thighs! And the fabric also pilled there horribly. Guess the chub rub is real...

What a bummer! I feel like I spent more time buying them than wearing them. Thank god I didn’t invest any time or money in tailoring the length, but just folded them up. Anyone else have this experience with printed pants?

Oh my! I hope you will contact Zara and let them know what happened. This is certainly not acceptable! You deserve a refund.

I've never had this happen to me, and I do have very full thighs that rub against each other.

I agree with Gigi that you should ask for and get a refund. My problem
with quality have been with polyester. Pilling and even rips in the fabric. I have also had cotton knits pill.

Not acceptable. You have got to report this, Jessicams. (Really nice floral print, though. I can understand the attraction.)

agree with others...even if you don't get a refund (and you should!) zara should know so they can quality control.

Well, I contacted Zara online but they said “it’s an issue for the store where the items were purchased.” Sadly I bought them in a store in another country, so I can’t go back. Lesson learned?? (Don’t buy fast fashion?)

Nope, never. I HAVE had a synthetic cardi pill horribly after one wear&wash, and still regret having been too lazy to go back to the store. That kind of thing is indeed unacceptable.

I have never heard of a print actually rubbing off fabric, but I guess it does!

I am shocked that Zara just fobbed you off - terrible customer service. I have had some great items from Zara so this is disappointing.

Time to work your way up the food chain, Jessicams. When you get a bs answer like that you need to ask for a manager, etc. Zara doesn't ship those pants to just one store! It is not up to one store to report it to QC or to make amends to you. Grrrr!

Bummer, those are cute pants. And I can't believe that they told you to take them back to the store where you got them! It's the same company, why would you have to do that?

Oh no! That’s awful. I’d definitely try an in-person visit next time you are near a Zara. What a shame because they are really cute.

I am always interested in quality issues. Sometimes I am genuinely shocked at what a retailer thinks they can get away with selling.

I hear all the comments on the Forum urging you to report this. I get it. I would normally say exactly the same thing, but how much time/effort do you really want to invest here? I just would not have the energy to follow up. I would take this as a lesson learned.

So sorry it happened though. The print is beautiful.

That is appalling! I've noticed a lot of extra-soft fabric lately that have texture issues; they get softness but sacrifice durability. I am suspecting that the fad for microfiber, new materials like modal and bamboo, and complex blends involving 4-5 fibers plus spandex is making it hard for companies to be sure of quality.
